TNAU Launches Two Year Long Diploma Program in Agricultural Engineering For Session 2022-23


New Delhi: Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute Kumulur, the constituent college of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) have launched one of its kind Diploma Program in Agricultural Engineering for the academic session 2022-23.

As per TNAU , the course will commence for a duration of two years with a capacity of 40 students per batch. The diploma program was inaugurated by TNAU Vice-Chancellor V Geethalakshmi in the presence of faculty members, staff, and students on the campus ground.

Under the TNAU Diploma Program 2022 , participants will have the opportunity to learn about various aspects and latest trends of agricultural engineering such as farm mechanisation, soil water conservation, food processing, Renewable Energy Engineering, etc. 

Candidates who are interested in applying for Diploma Program in Agricultural Engineering under TNAU Admission 2022 are required to have class 12th or equivalent qualifications in art, science, or commerce stream from a recognized examination board. 

Informing about the program, TNAU Vice-Chancellor V Geethalakshmi stated that the diploma course will aim to help grassroots level farmers of Tamil Nadu in increasing their employability and understand the basics and important concepts of agricultural engineering.

The program will further teach participants how to use farm mechanisation of crops to overcome the labor shortage. As a part of the initiative, the university has also inaugurated students’ club activities, an integrated farming system, and a student cafeteria on campus ground. 

In addition to this, the program will also include training sessions and lecture halls, labs, fields, and hostel facilities so that students can understand the concepts of different crops through practical and training activities on campus ground. 

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University also collaborated with ITC to create better awareness among the farmers to save water. The MoU will aim to introduce the farmers to agronomic practices and irrigation-efficient technology to help them in optimizing water usage.
