Universities Adopting CUET 2022 Are Not Required to Pay Fees, Clarifies UGC


New Delhi: UGC Chairman has recently cleared the air by stating that universities are not required to pay any fee to UGC or NTA to adopt CUET 2022.

Clearing air over various apprehensions around the implementation of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), the UGC has announced this decision. Further, the universities are also not required to sign an MoU with the NTA or UGC for the same. 

Clarifying the process for implementation of CUET, UGC Chairman, M Jagadesh Kumar tweeted on his social media, that in order to adopt CUET, the universities will have to only register on the NTA website, instead of paying any fees to the NTA/ UGC or signing an MoU with NTA/UGC.

Kumar mentioned that when the students submit their CUET scores during admissions, the universities can verify the students' CUET scores against NTA data which will be available to them. 

CUET 2022 Participating Colleges 

In order to implement the CUET, the universities can register at the official NTA website, nta.ac.in/cuetexam.

This year, all the 45 central universities, including Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), University of Hyderabad (UOH), Allahabad University, have agreed to adopt CUET score to admit the aspiring candidates in their undergraduate courses.

On April 4, Vice Chancellors of 25 state universities from Karnataka have also given their consent to implement CUET for admissions into undergraduate courses like BA, B.Sc, B.Com, etc.

UGC has notified that CUET 2022 registration process will commence on April 6 and will conclude on May 6, 2022. Earlier, the registration process for admission to academic session 2022-23 was scheduled to begin on April 2, however, it was later postponed to April 6.

Candidates seeking admission to UG courses offered by Central Universities across India can register for CUET 2022 online by logging onto the NTA website (nta.nic.in), or (cuet.samarth.ac.in), after checking the CUET 2022 eligibility criteria.
