University of Kashmir to Conduct PG Entrance Exams from First Week of September


The University of Kashmir is all set to conduct PG admission entrance examinations 2020, from the first week of September 2020.

The official notice released by University of Kashmir reads, "All the candidates who have submitted online application form and have deposited the requisite entrance exam fee for admission in 3 year LLB and 5 year LLB are to be notified that University will conduct entrance test from the first week of September 2020."

The exam will be held in offline mode and varsity said that all the precautionary measures will be abided like wearing masks inside the exam hall, students will be seated 2 meters apart and strict sanitization will be followed.

Earlier, the University of Kashmir decided to promote postgraduate students on the basis of academic merit achieved at the graduation level. However, this move was opposed by students and authorities seeking the university to conduct entrance tests.

Director of Admissions, Professor Farooq Mir disclosed that more than 2000 students applied for admission in Sociology, Botany, and Zoology. It is not easy to hold exams for this strength in a single day, due to social distancing norms. Hence, the exams will be held on different dates.

Farooq Mir also said, "The University is chalking out its plans. Earlier, we used to hold entrance tests for three subjects in a single day. However, due to prevailing situations, it is not possible to conduct in a single day."
