Veterinary Council of India Recommends Final Approval to BHU’s BVSc & AH Program; Check Details Here

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, Veterinary Council of India has recommended the final recognition of Banaras Hindu University's (BHU) Bachelor's Program in Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry to the Ministry of Fisheries, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.

As per the BHU officials, the recommendation for final approval of the BVSc & AH Program was made by the council under Section 15 of “Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984”. The step was taken during the 71st council meeting held on March 14, 2023,

After this approval, Banaras Hindu University would become one of few institutions in India authorised to offer Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) course degrees to students. This recommendation will benefit students from 2017-18 batch onwards.

In addition to this, BHU will offer an annual intake of 60 seats through BHU Admission for this program. Admission seats will be allotted to those who have at least 50% marks in 10+2 from a recognised board with biology (zoology and botany), physics, chemistry and English subject.

To pursue BHU’s BVSc & AH Program, students will have to pay a course fee of INR 56,089 in the 1st professional year and INR 50,314 for the rest of the program. Additionally, the hostel fee for students will be INR 7,500 (tentative) in the first year and INR 2,310 from 2nd year onwards.

Speaking on this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Professor Sudhir Kumar Jain, and Director of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Yashwant Singh congratulated the BHU faculty members on the VCI’s recommendations.

In recent news, the university has launched a BHU scheme to provide financial aid to foreign research students of the university. Through this initiative, the university will offer qualified students a credit incentive of INR 40,000 and an additional credit incentive of INR 30,000.
