For BE, 35% of the available seats are filled through the management quota, at Thaiagarajar College of Engineering. While the rest 65% of the seats are available for TNEA.

Thaigarajar College takes admission for management quota based on merit. You don’t need to pay any extra fees for management quota seats. There is separate counseling for management quota admission.

In general, any Engineering College (Non-Minority) in Tamil Nadu is required to fill 65 percent of seats through the government's single window counseling system, with the remaining 35 percent filled by the management.

  • All the undergraduate courses are filled as 65% via TNEA and 35% through management. For a course with 120 seats, 42 seats will be filled through management.
  • PG courses have an intake of 25 wherein 12 seats will be filled through TANCET and 6 seats will be filled through GATE. Management has filled the remaining 7 seats.

Thiagarajar college accepts applications for management seats and conducts a separate counseling type of process based on the candidates' scores and seat availability. This procedure starts within one or two days of the 12th results and completes within the next 15–20 days.

Thiagarajar College has a policy of not filling management positions with money. Even so, few students are admitted to the college due to their high level of influence or recommendations from Ministers, MLAs, MPs, and a few others.
