For engineering, the grace mark policies at Savitribai Phule Pune University are as follows.

  • Every student will get 10 marks grace if there is only one subject backlog. For 50-50 pattern, the mark deviation will be 5-5. For 70-30 pattern, the mark deviation will be 7-3.
  • If someone scored 37 marks or above in a subject, it will be cleared.

SPPU grace marks don’t exceed 1% of the aggregate marks of the examination.

Grace marks are a maximum of 10 marks, i.e. 1 percent aggregate for failed subjects, e.g. 30 out of 100 in one subject and remaining subjects passed, then 10 marks grace.

  • If you fail only one course while passing all others, your deficiency of marks in that subject may be excused by not more than 1% of the examination's aggregate marks or 10% of the total number of marks in that head of passing in which you are failing, whichever is less.
  • Condonation, on the other hand, should be limited to a maximum of 10 points in either one or both of the passing categories.
  • Condonation of deficiency of marks can be shown in the Statement of Marks in the form of asterisk and Ordinance number.
  • Provided that this condonation of marks is concurrent with the rules and guidelines of professional statutory bodies at the India level such as AICTE, MCI, Bar Council, CCIM, CCIII, NCTE, and so on.
  • If you fail in one head of passing but pass in another head of passing in the same subject, you are entitled to the benefit of the Condonation in both heads, if necessary, up to the maximum amount of Condonation allowed.
  • If a deficiency in marks is excused, your class/grade in the relevant examination will be determined based on the actual marks earned.

Only one examination of a single course may be awarded the advantage of more than one Ordinance. The benefits of the above-mentioned Ordinances may be granted to candidates who are taking the test with a backlog and/or exemption if such an exemption/backlog system is available.
