On what basis do you get admission in IIIT Hyderabad?
It depends on which course you are choosing to pursue.
- Admission for B.Tech at IIIT Hyderabad is through JEE Mains. You will need a score of around 280+ in order to get selected. You will also need decent marks in your +2.
- If you want to pursue dual degree programs, you can opt for later admission. For that, you will need to complete 2 years of B.Tech from an institute and then apply. They conduct an exam for interested candidates and the selected ones get calls for interviews. You can also apply for the dual degree courses based on your UGEE rank.

IIIT Hyderabad requires a good JEE score for admission. A score of 250 or more should be good enough. After that, you can join IIT Hyderabad during the process of counseling.
Lateral Entry:
IIT Hyderabad allows a provision for later admission for dual degree courses in IIIT. To opt for that provision, you will need to complete your second year of B.Tech from any college in CS/IT or ECE/ETCE/EIE/EEE and then apply for the provision.
Student Intake:
They will conduct an exam and then the students who are selected will be called up for interviews. There are only 15 seats in every branch. That is, there are a total of 30 seats, 15 in CS and 15 in ECE are available for lateral admissions.
