Allahabad University PhD admission 2023 is open now. The last date to register for the CRET 2023 PhD admission has been extended to November 24, 2023. Interested candidates can register online on the official website @allduniv.ac.in. PhD at Allahabad University is a 4-year doctoral program that can be pursued in a full-time or part-time mode. The program is offered in more than 40 specialisations available across Science, Commerce, Arts, Management and Law, among other streams. Candidates who holds a master degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognised university are eligible for admission.

Allahabad University Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should follow the eligibility criteria which is given below:

• Applicants should qualify CRET for admission to the D.Phil. Program.
• Applicants should have secured a minimum of 55% in their PG course. However, the percentage is 50% with SC / ST / PH.
• Students need at least 54% marks on average in their academic careers. However, the percentage is 49% in the case of SC / ST / PH.
• ​Any candidate with the 3rd division in graduate and post-graduate courses will not be provided with admission.

Allahabad University Ph.D Admission Criteria

Admission to the PhD program will be based on the Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET) conducted by the university followed by a personal Interview conducted by the respective department. Candidates holding valid scores in UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ GATE entrance examination will be given preference for admission.

• Regular teachers of the University of Allahabad and of any institution / Constituent Colleges maintained by it or admitted to its privileges and International Applicants / Officers of Armed Forces are exempted from appearing at CRET Level-1 but they must appear for the Level 2 test. 
• The NET/JRF candidates are required to appear in CRET Level-1 and Level-2 examinations.
•  All candidates (except those exempted from CRET Level-1), including NET/JRF, are required to appear in Level-1 examination.

• Visit the official website of Allahabad University @allduniv.ac.in.
• Register by entering details like full name, father's name, mother name, nationality, mobile number, email id, gender, etc.
• Fill the registered id and password on the screen. Login with the details.
• Fill the Allahabad University CRET 2023 Application Form.
• Upload the documents and pay fees for the application form.
• Take a printout of the Allahabad University CRET 2023 Application Form.

• They prescribe the fees for different categories of applicants for CRET- 2023 areas follows:
• For General / OBC Candidates : INR 1800/-
• For SC / ST / PH Candidates : INR 900/-

Allahabad University CRET 2023 Exam Pattern

CRET (Combined Research Entrance Test) exam is divided into 3 different levels and is conducted by the University of Allahabad for entrance into PhD programmes. 

• Level 1 includes a written test. There will be 50 questions (for Section A) each carrying 4 marks. Section B also includes 50 questions to evaluate the subject proficiency of the candidate. 
• Level 2 is more of a subjective based test and the sections covers questions on subject expertise and research aptitude. Total time allotted for the completion of the section is 3 hours and total marks are 200. There will be three sections for this level including short, medium and long answer type.
• Level 3 which is the final round is an interview round. This section also includes other forms of appraisals like presentations andGD. Those who clear in one level can only move to the next level. At least 50% for Unreserved (UR) applicants and 45% for EWS, OBC, SC, ST, and Person with Disability (PwD)
  applicants. in each of the sections of level I or level II is mandatory to get qualified for level III.

Applicants need these Minimum Qualifying Marks to be eligible for Level 2.

• For General Category applicants: 30 % of 300= 90
• For OBC Category applicants : 27 % of 300= 81
• For SC / ST / PH category applicants: Nil
