Engineering at NYU: A sneak peek!

Research output, facilities and industry connections are very strong in the field I want to study in. Professors are very experienced and pioneers in the field.

Course Curriculum :

Each faculty can design their own curriculum and incorporate real world industry related concepts to make the class more beneficial.

My scores: GRE 162 Verbal 160 quants 4.5 writing; IELTS 8.0; Requirements: GRE 315+; IELTS 6.0+

Placement :

All major Forbes listed companies are available for application, campus job fairs are held regularly. Placement is an independent process and students needs to apply on their own. This is the norm in all American universities. Median salary depends on course and company applied to. Visa sponsorship also needs to be considered.

Internship :

International students have to apply for CPT/OPT, not possible before 1 academic year.

NYU Tandon Summer Scholars (6000$/sem) Required to fill a questionnaire and submit related documents to support your application.

Faculty :

Ratio is 1:8. Faculty is approachable and helpful, considerate towards potential learning gap between students from different countries. Prof Tom Mazzone, G. Vradis and N.Dizzino.

Campus Life :

Numerous clubs are available. All facilities for athletics, arts etc are available over campus. 2 main libraries with access to e-resources also. Research labs are located in a separate building on jay street.

Hostel :

Accommodation for graduate students is limited on campus. Resources are available to help find housing off-campus. Avg rent depends on locality in the city.
