My university

CM
7.0 /10

It is a partner university with the one back in Malaysia so it was convenient to do a twinning program here. Also, this university is Australia's leading hotel school for hospitality education hence it makes sense for me to choose this university.

Course Curriculum :

It's a really interesting curriculum. The subjects are a mix of practical and theory based. There are also 2 industry placements that I would need to undergo throughout the whole course. With all the practical subjects I am learning, I get to benefit from the advantages and gain a bit of insight before going into the working world.

Placement :

It is very self-independent which is good for the students to learn to go out and apply for jobs by themselves. They should not rely on the lecturers to do it for them however they are there to help. Job opportunities for the hospitality industry are always available as this industry is constantly growing.

Internship :

Yes, they do provide internship or industry placements. I have gone through only one and it was a great experience, from going for interviews to working in a 5-star hotel, I learned so much about the hotel sector and how the food and beverage industry works.

Fees :

The fee is a little pricey as compared to other courses and universities. However, it is worth the money. I did not have any other charges except for visa and insurance applications.

Examination Structure :

It depends on what year and which semester you're in. Certain subjects have 100% coursework whereas others are 50% coursework and 50% of exams. It is all a mix which is good. However there?s a lot of writing to be done in exams which I feel isn't fair for just 2 hours.

Faculty :

They are all well versed and highly trained. Every lecturer cares for the students and makes sure everyone understands every single thing. Not only that, they make sure we students get the most out of this programme .
