High quality education at University of Newcastle

8.2 /10

Location- close to home and I can't afford to live out of home, the quality of education is high, and most courses have high employment rates after graduation. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities are of high quality.

Course Curriculum :

Very happy with the curriculum- it has a wide range of topics and covers all needed knowledge bases. There is a good amount of practical engagement included in the course curriculum. There are sometimes perhaps too many courses expected to be completed within one semester, but they do have part-time options too.

Fees :

Other than course fees, we are charged $150 a semester for amenities and other facility charges. Other than those, each course has a designated price that stacks up and is added to our HECS debt. We then can pay the tuition fees off once we have a stable job and are earning a particular amount of money.

Examination Structure :

The exam structure is well placed. Half-yearly exams are good as they can provide a good indication as to where the student?s level is at, and where other areas need more attention. The yearly exams are also a good part of the education system as many are open book exams and focus not on memory, but knowledge and ability to form essays and such.

Faculty :

The faculty is always friendly, good at their lecturing and well equipped with the knowledge needed to support the student education needs. The faculty is very approachable and they make it well known how and when we are able to contact them if needed.
