  • Carleton University and Algonquin College have entered into a unique partnership to offer a combined Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) degree and advanced diploma.
  • The Bachelor of Information Technology Photonics and Laser Technology (BIT) program provides a multidisciplinary education and practical experience in such diverse but connected subjects such as, laser physics, optical system design, bio photonics, fiberoptic telecommunication, laser machining and holography.
  • Our faculty works closely with industry through Applied research projects, and also with our cooperative student placements, so we are able to keep pace with the both your needs and the rapid pace of industrial change and therefore able to supply the needs of a diverse & dynamic industry.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Applicant must have

  • English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or equivalent) with a grade of 70% or higher.
  • Mathematics, Grade 11 (MBF3C or equivalent).

International student eligibility:

  • Applicants must have passed 12th with one of the following: All India School Certificate (CBSE), Indian School Certificate (CISCE), or one of the state board certificates
  • Admission average will be calculated on 5-6 academic subjects completed in the XII level
  • The minimum entrance averages range between 67-85%, depending on the program
  • Subjects required: Mathematics

Applicant must have qualified any one of the language tests IELTS/TOEFL to prove English language proficiency.
