Student Visa Process for Canada

To study in Canada for six months or longer, students must obtain a Study Permit and a Canadian Student Visa from the nearest Canadian Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate. Applicants are suggested to apply for these documents before they come to Canada and begin this procedure immediately after submitting their application for admission. The process of obtaining immigration documents differs between visa offices and can take up to 12 months to complete.

Before the Canadian immigration officer will issue a Study Permit, applicants will need an official letter of admission from the University.

Applications for admission for undergraduate programs typically take four to six weeks to process, although it depends on what time of year the application is submitted and whether additional information or documentation is required. The deadline to apply online for scholarships and awards is June 1, 2021.

When the marks of an applicant are highly competitive, they may be admitted based on their Grade 11 marks alone, but most students need to present some final Grade 12 marks before receiving an offer. If they are not eligible the first time they are assessed, they may be asked to submit more courses and marks and/or other required documents in order to be re-assessed.
