I have just spent about 3 months at UVic that too online but my experience so far has been satisfying in the sense, I was able to grasp everything taught to me in class. I have also made new friends online from my home country and all of us are very excited to go to Victoria together and begin our offline instruction as soon as possible. So it's been a satisfying experience both socially and academically.

UVic is one of the most popular universities in Canada given it's great reputation and location. It's also one of the oldest universities in Canada. It offers three specializations under it's Bcom program i.e Service Management, entrepreneurship and International Management. Students can further advance into fields such as investment banking, human resources etc thus proving to be a very versatile program for students not sure what they wanna pick initially.

Course Curriculum :

I am currently in the first year that too through taking my classes through the online medium. What i was told is that I will be taking courses from all specializations uptil my 3rd year where i will be told to choose a specialization on the basis of what i developed an interest in during the first two years of my study here so that should make it clear so as to what i would want to do in the future. Being new to the program, I feel like the program has been good enough to this point

Exams :

The university only asks for English proficiency which can be proved through IELTS, GRE,TOEFL. I took IELTS during my 12th grade. The minimum basis for acceptance set by the uni is 6.5 bands overall whereas i scored a 7.0 overall. Only one of the few english proficiency tests is to be given by the potential candidate.

Placement :

So i have read people's account on different social media platforms about how well they did after they completed Bcom from UVic. It honestly seems like a great program and has one of the highest placement rates in Business schools across BC. I have heard from my professors that students do get post-study placements from companies such as Deloitte and even giants like Google.

Events :

So during the orientation I was told what kind of facilities the campus had to offer once in Canada. 24 hour running internet, libraries, sports facilities are standard in all Canadian universities and UVic offers them too. I personally haven't been able to attend any events on campus because of Covid but i am familiar with some of the clubs at UVic and can tell everyone they are run by students too and can be great to invest time in something someone has a keen interest in.

Scholarship :

NO

Faculty :

So obviously professors can teach more and more students using online means such as zoom. For each course, the class strength varies but the class sizes are pretty small making it easy to approach professors and ask questions on a one to one basis. I haven't had any problems with any of my professors yet but it's been like 2-3 months so there is a lot to learn and experience in this department.

Hostel :

No, i honestly don't know a lot about accommodation there since I am still in India and taking online instruction.
