A Quick Opinion of UNB

MW
8.5 /10

It's the best one in the city and affordable. I didn't want to have to move out of my home town because I don't have the money for that. I also had several friends who attended and graduated and I went to them for their opinions before applying. They all talked of the teachers they enjoyed and told me the pros and cons, helping me decide.

Course Curriculum :

I am enjoying the freedom to pick and choose randomly for this first year. I wanted to be able to choose some interesting ones out of the list I was given but wanted to also get used to how college life works, so I went with mostly English since I'm strongest in that.

Placement :

They offer a lot of opportunities with giving co-op people jobs during school time, which can, later on, be made from part-time to full-time jobs. additionally, being able to put UNB on your resume shows resolve and strength, which is something any employer would want to see.

Events :

Free fries day, spring break, winter break, the first party of the semester, international women's day, terry fox run, St Patrick's Day, Christmas, generally any large and national holiday has an event at the school. There are also initial dances in the beginning, as well as business events, club days in September to see if you want to join any of the clubs in the school.

Fees :

The structure for fees was straightforward. They are very well defined in the paperwork you get while you're applying, and are told of the charges on D2L or twitter if you follow the school. Plus the student loan people themselves will send emails about any fees.

Examination Structure :

The exam structure is great. Everything is very clear, from e-mail notification about the date to the locations, time, etc. and depending on the class and faculty, they may allow music in the exam room so long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else taking their exam. They also allow food and drink in there and let you go to the bathroom, cause they get we're human and need those things.

Faculty :

Every single faculty member I have had this year has been incredible. They all are very passionate about their subjects and do care about whether or not their students are making progress or struggling. I have anxiety, but emailing them has helped me be more confident to ask for help in person. They're willing to do whatever it might take to make sure everyone succeeds.
