Life at Dawson College

R
5.7 /10

Location and it has a good reputation in comparison to other local colleges. Originally had gone for the science department which ya really wonderful equipment. I later continued to attend because the teachers and students are actually serious

Course Curriculum :

It's okay.

Exams :

I am in Canada so I just did my high school exams for DEC and applied to college. I have not yet attempted to apply for uni, but I have at least done my English exit exam

Placement :

I don't know; it really depends on your program choice, if you picked a 3-year profession program than it usually comes with internships but I wouldn't know the employment rate. It goes more by your grades as well.

Internship :

No, they don't

Events :

My college celebrates Native Americans, valentines, LGBTQ events, holidays of all cultures including Chinese New Year and winter holidays, st Patrick's, Halloween, sport achievement, e-commerce week.

Fees :

You select your courses and if you're doing four or more course in a semester you get a rebates price than if you do less. The price per hour of those courses varies on the program of the course or its an inherent value

Scholarship :

No, I have not, I work and I study full time.

Examination Structure :

It depends on the course and program. I usually get 3 big tests for most of courses and one final project. My English Exit exam was compromised of having to write an essay response analysis of 1000 words in a time of 3 hours.

Faculty :

The professors are great, the student advisors and actual system is a bit shit and very biased. No two student advisors will give you the same advice and when you use that as a reason to dispute how you messed up your semester there's no proof they ever said that and you might've just misunderstood. The doctor's nurse secretary is also very judgemental.

Hostel :

I lived off campus being already a local. Rent is becoming overpriced tho, thanks to other foreigners moving into the city to attend our universities and colleges. I would still choose to live in my own apt anyday
