I completed my Engineering degree in India and applied to Canada & Netherlands for this Masters. Since I would like to get an abroad exposure and experience for my studies relating to my knowledge and to develop my skills. And I got the admission in both where I chose Canada over Netherlands. As I found this is student friendly and has welcoming people.

Course Curriculum :

The course structure is properly scheduled to have weekly assignments. Mine is research-based course where we have to work on a real time issue and conduct studies as well as suggest remedial measures which help them in a safe future perspective. There are well trained class sessions. The college and the specific faculties provide assistance if we are in need of any help.

Exams :

I didnt require any english proficiency tests as my past courses and works where English-oriented. I had done my education in University of Kerala and worked on ICAR were the code of communication was English. I worked on Environmental issues and did my previous education in that. So I would like to learn more on the management side of it in terms of sustainability.

Placement :

There are numerous opportunities to get placed according to our interest. We will be receiving the notification or emails from our individual faculty memebers/graduate officers on various posting as well as openings. The university has websites that helps students to find opportunities as per their qualifications. There are centres which help them in accessing the information thay need to for enhancing their future.

Internship :

The university has a wide range of programs. Some offers co-op which helps in gaining experience while learning and is also a source of learning for the students. Those who want to do internships they can even opt that. The program which I have chosen is Thesis based on where we have to conduct research studies on the environmental problems. Analysing and suggestions the suitable methods for its betterment

Events :

The university has a wide range of events- those relating and relevant to each department such as for us-the water day, Environmental day so on..They conduct events that help international students to communicate and meet new people. These create to have an exposure to them and get to know about the facilities they are having. Even Thrive week and those programs that help in developing the educational and mental as well as emotional views are conducted.

Fees :

The fee structure of my education including the residence is around 11,000CAD. There is departmental funds but that may get varied in different terms. There are various part-time options for students which they need to figure out as per their timings of class. Most of the opportunities offered are for the undergraduates with few TA/RA positions for graduates.

Examination Structure :

The exam depends on the program they are in. Usually research oriented programs does not have an exam instead they will be evaluated of their knowledge by the assignments thay have been given and their research works. The internship/co-OP orientated subjects offer exam. They even offer a system where we can opt any number of courses ro enhance our knowledge as per our time of availability and interest.

Faculty :

The faculties are very experienced. They help in sorting out any issues we face. There are so many ways we can seek assistance if we need. As an international student, I found it very helpful in my case. Apart from studies everything was new and unfamiliar to me but the approach of faculties here and the resources university provides provide us a great sort of help.

Hostel :

I stay in the university residence at Columbia lake village North. I preferred to stay here as my professor suggested of various issues. As I'm new to this place I need to get familiar with the culture, people and way of the system which takes time. So I need to take care of myself hence university residence with people/students university itself are the ones surrounding us. This helps in getting a wide range of help to us. The community centre provide instant help and information when we face any kind of issues.
