It provided the exact course I wanted to take. it was close to where I live and I have heard great reviews about Mohawk. I knew some people who have taken this program before and therefore I knew it was the perfect program for me. So far, I have thoroughly enjoyed the program and the material included.
Exams :
I chose this program because it provided the best experience I needed and wanted. It provides courses such as Placement Prep, Safety in Education, Technology in Education, Communications, Foundations in Education, Psychology, Math in an Educational Setting, and much more. I will have three different placements to have experience in different levels of schooling.
Placement :
They are amazing! In the educational Support program there are three different placements which give us the chance to have different experiences at different schools. Also, this helps us see what level of school we like to work in, whether it is highschool, elementary, or a fully specialized school.
Internship :
There are different jobs in campus. We can support the CICE students in different ways. There are tutoring positions and if you join the MSA, there are more options for working on campus. This helps students who are unable to work far from college to still have a job.
Events :
There are many different events, but some in particular: mental health awareness 1 mile run, Christmas, different concerts, movies, etc.
Fees :
I the fee I paid is approximately $2000 per semester for the Educational Support Program. I'm not completely sure if there are scholarships for international students. I have received OSAP and also a $500 scholarship from my highschool graduation. This helps me with the expenses and make my college experience affordable.
Examination Structure :
We are given the exam schedule in advance so that we can prepare for them. Also, we get good review to help us prepare well for the exams.
Faculty :
The teachers are very helpful and are very good at explaining things and teaching the course material. They help us succeed in our time here at Mohawk.
Hostel :
I am currently living at home, as I am in driving distance of the campus. Sometimes I stay in Hamilton with family or friends, but generally I stay at home. This helps keep my expenses lower and more affordable.
