Established in 1987, (LVPEI) is an eye health facility with its headquarters located in Hyderabad, India. LVPEI is the first major eye institute in India to receive accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare providers (NABH). 

LVPEI offers Post Graduate Diploma in Optometry and Vision Sciences (PGDOVS). Candidates who have a Bachelor of Optometry are eligible to apply. Admission to the program is based on merit in the written test conducted by the institute.

Ques. What kind of jobs do students get after placements from LVPEI?

Ans. Some students may be recruited as Junior Administrators and posted at either a secondary centre or a tertiary centre after completing the DEHM course from LVPEI.

Ques. Does the Institute have a hostel?

Ans. Full-time students are provided shared accommodation in the GPR ICARE campus.The campus cafeteria serves Indian vegetarian food at subsidized rates. Students with special needs are assisted in their search for accommodation close to the campus in Kismatpur. PG Diploma applicants can take up accommodation at the Bausch & Lomb School of Optometry campus.

Ques. What are the accommodations and mess charges at LVPEI?

Ans. If a trainee chooses to stay in the hostel, then the hostel and mess charges total up to INR 33,000. Hostel fee is INR 9,000 and mess charges are INR 24, 000 for six months. All accommodations and mess fees must be paid at the time of admission in LVPEI.

Ques. Are all LVPEI courses online?

Ans. No, only one to two diploma courses are conducted online and the mode of instruction for the other courses is on campus. LVPEI even conducts its courses offsite in hospitals and other health management institutions.
