NTPC School of Business (NSB), an extended arm of NTPC, is running an AICTE approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) Executive program for working professionals. It has launched PGDM with a specialization in Energy Management from the current academic year with the academic support of IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA). Admission is offered in two rounds.

  • NTPC School of Business (NSB) offers an online mode of application for both the courses.
  • For PGDM in Energy Management, a candidate must pass Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) in BE/B.Tech/B.Sc./B.Com/CA/ICWA, etc. or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks.
  • Admission to PGDM and PGDM Executive is done on the basis of CAT/GMAT/XAT/NSB Admission Test score for Self-Sponsored candidates.
  • Final selection is done is on the basis of Admission Score (AS) and Personal Assessment (PA).
  • For PGDM Executive, the candidate must have passed a Bachelor’s degree/CA/ICWA with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.

NTPC School of Business (NSB) PGDM Admission 2023

NTPC School of Business, Noida offers a full-time PGDM program in Energy Management for a duration of two years for graduate students and working executives. The institute also offers full-time PGDM Executive for a duration of 15 months.

For PGDM in Energy Management, a candidate must have passed Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) in BE/B.Tech/B.Sc./B.Com/CA/ICWA, etc. or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks or CGPA from recognized university/institutions. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/Differently abled Persons with Disabilities category, at least 45% marks are required in the bachelor’s degree. Selection to the program is done on the basis of Admission Score (AS) based on performance in CAT/GMAT/XAT/NSB Admission Test, performance in graduation, experience in the energy/power/oil sector and educational background. 

  • Based on Admission Score (AS), shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Assessment (PA).
  • Final selection will be made strictly on the basis of final scores consisting of AS and PA scores.

The institute also offers Executive PGDM to company-sponsored as well as self-sponsored candidates. Minimum eligibility for the PGDM Executive program is a candidate must have passed Class 10, Class 12, Bachelor’s degree/CA/ICWA with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA by a recognized university. Also, working professionals must have a minimum of five years of work experience as on June 30. Selection is done on the basis of CAT/GMAT/XAT/NSB Admission Test score for Self-Sponsored candidates.

Executive Bachelor’s degree/CA/ICWA with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA by a recognized university. Passed Class X and XII with minimum 50% minimum marks.

Key Points:

  • Candidates appearing for final year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification examination and those who are awaiting result can also apply for PGDM (Energy Management).
  • Relaxation of 5% marks is given to SC/ST/PWD category.
  • For PGDM (Executive), NSB accepts company & self-sponsored applicants with a minimum of 5 years of work experience.

Academic Diversity Factor

If any student who has done graduation from any of the listed courses then he/she will get 6 points as Academic Diversity Factor Points. Here is the list of courses: BA, BA(H), B.Sc, B.Sc.(H), BS, B.Com, B.Com(H), BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, LL.B, MBBS, BDS or any other Non-Engineering subject areas at the Bachelor’s level. 

Composite Score Evaluation for PI Shortlisting

Shortlisting of candidates for the Personal Interview will be done on the composite score which will be done on the basis of Score in Entrance Test, Academic Performance,  Academic Diversity Factor and Gender Diversity Factor. On the above given criteria a candidate will be awarded out of 100 marks for the final selection of Interview. Candidates who have scored more than the institute set marks will be called for the Interview. After that candidates have to appear for the interview and they will be evaluated as per the stage 2 process. 

Stage 2 – Final Selection After Interview

Candidate will be evaluated based on the work experience and personal interview for the final Selection.

Only Managerial work will be considered. Training/Project work will not be considered as experience. 

Personal Assessment

A candidate will be evaluated in the personal interview and he will be given maximum of 35 marks which will be used in final evaluation process for the seletion for the admission of course.

The institute offers an online mode of application to the candidates for both the courses. 

Steps to Apply:

  • Visit the official website of the institute and click on the ‘Admissions’ tab.
  • Register by providing the necessary information.
  • Log in using the provided ID and Password. Fill the application form.
  • Pay the application fees of INR 1500 (for General) and INR 750 (for SC/ST and PH category) only directly to the institute.
  • For NRI candidates, the application fee is US $ 40 (PGDM-E) and US $ 50 (PGDM-EM).
  • Fees can be submitted through an online payment mode.
