MICA MBA Admission Process 2024

MICA MBA Admission happens through a layered filtering process consisting of CAT / XAT / GMAT performance; Performance in MICAT Written Exam and Performance in Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI). MICAT has three sections which are as follows:

Section C Descriptive Test

Step 1: Psychometric Test

  • Candidates with minimum cutoff scores in CAT / XAT / GMAT are required to appear for MICAT.
  • MICAT Section A (Psychometric Test) is checked as the first step of selection, this section is a qualifier

Step 2: CAT / XAT / GMAT Performance

  • For candidates who qualify for MICAT Section A, their performance on CAT / XAT / GMAT is evaluated. 
  • The best of the three scores is considered for the shortlisting of the candidates.

Step 3: MICAT Performance

  • Candidates who qualify based on CAT / XAT / GMAT, their Section C (Sub-section) of MICAT is assessed.
  • Those who qualify through Section C, their performance in Section B will be evaluated.
  • There is a sectional cutoff for both Sections C & B.
  • Candidates who qualify through Steps 1, 2, and 3 will be considered for GE & PI. 
  • GE & PI Shortlist is based on the Composite Score Formula of 50% CAT / XAT / GMAT and 50% MICAT Scores.

Step 4: Group Exercise and Personal Interview

Candidates who appear in GE & PI must be recommended by majority of the panellists of PI to be considered for the final merit list. The composite score for final selection is prepared based on the following weightage:
