Course Curriculum Overview:

Mainly our entire course happened online due to covid, they provided us weekly basis routine with zoom links. Each class strength was almost 60 students and all the professors used to hold interactive sessions and used to give notes. We even got access to various books through our college portal .

Internships Opportunities:

Some of the companies which came for internships are ICIC Bank, Amazon, Dabur, Fortis, etc. In this internship, we learnt how to deal with customers and changing scenarios before and after covid and analysed how the market will be in future.

In 2 years, we were entirely into online learning with strict time schedules even entering Zoom links. We got access to the e-library through their student online portal. Every subject's notes were also available. They used to hold daily basis as well as weekly basis exams on day-to-day learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our batch started during the Covid period, so classes and other activities happened online. The professors of the college are well-educated and their teachings were extraordinary. They gave us relevant notes. Each class consisted of around 50 students and there were 3 sections.

There are various clubs and committees on campus that ensure a minimum of 3-4 events happen on campus every month (ex:- passion, chakravyuh). The library is themed around management and is one of the best world-class facilities. The classroom is completely AC/heater with all possible amenities needed for proper education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are six trimesters out of which the first two is common for all streams after which we have to choose our own major specialization from operations, finance, marketing and Human Resource and do courses according to those and other choices for the minor specialization.

Campus Life:

So MBA, in general, is a hectic course initial few months are gone in just trying to fit in the new environment with the number of assignments, daily readings before class and before exams the hustle of preparing presentations for every subject, and sleepless nights. Giving 2 to 3 exams in a day. The campus is small but the infrastructure is really good. There are around 14 clubs along with a management body, aluminum cell, and placement cell. The library is there with all the books required and a separate section having past year question papers for students to reference during exams for practice.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

Education fees are around 11.67 lakhs + 3.5lakhs for a hostel which now has increased to 12.5 lakhs for education and 4 lakhs for a hostel. A hike of 5-10% in fees is expected. The scholarship is based on academics, sports, overall performance, and the EWS category. The average package is 10 LPA and the average stipend is around 40k pm. 100% placement is there. A diverse pool of companies comes every year and an increase in the number of companies and packages can be seen.

Infrastructure is fairly decent, the library has an ultimate collection, and washrooms and reading rooms are super clean and provide a conducive environment for productivity. Personally, not many substantial things in the clubs, the primary reason is the lack of interest and initiative faculty takes in clubs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was rigorous, there were trimesters every year, and a variety of subjects covering all the domains. The faculty is highly qualified and very interactive and fairly supportive at times. Overall, academic-wise, LBSIM gave me an amazing experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The PGDM General course provides you with room for understanding all the domains in the management course and choosing the stream thereafter that interests you in the second year. At LBSIM section size is approx 40 students and most of the faculties come with a lot of industry experience. Exams are a bit tough and one needs to work hard on academics to pass.

Campus Life:

The infrastructure of the college is average. Although the classrooms are good the campus lacks space for sports grounds and amenities. There are 11 clubs in the institute completely run by students. 'Tatva' - the annual fest of LBSIM is the most exciting and fun event of the year.

All the professors are Ph.D. and are specialist in their domain and their Finance domain teachers are better. Each semester is off for 12-13 weeks so after every 2 months, we have end-term exams and exams are practical on online mode.

Ans. Your brother has a fairly good chance of section as his CAT percentage is well-above the required cutoff. For 2021, IIM Kozhikode cutoff was 85 (for general category students). But the selection depends a lot on the interview performance too. So, ask your brother to prepare thoroughly for the interview round.  You can go through the section criteria and the admission procedure of the institute to clear any doubts you may have. Read more
