My Experience with IMT Ghaziabad

Remarks :

Exams - CAT/XAT. the cutoff is around 94% for freshers, but there is provision for people with work ex. The application form will be available on the website. once you are selected for the next round based on your exam scores, then you have to appear for WAT and PI. There is no reservation as such, but there are certain provisions for female candidates, like discounts on fees. overall the admission process is quite smooth and well-managed.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I was selected for PGDM core which is the flagship course offered at IMT Ghaziabad. I believe IMT was the best call that I had at the time, other converts were from baby IIMs and other institutes. Faculties are extremely helpful and highly qualified. Coming to exams, if one pays attention in class, it's easy to pass most of the subjects.

Internships Opportunities :

The internship is compulsory for all 1st-year students. Several big names visit campus to offer internships. Various kinds of roles are offered. Do check the college website for a detailed reports on internship opportunities.

Placement Experience :

placements are good. 100% of candidates appearing for the placement process get placed. Given the IMTs legacy of 42+ years, several leading companies visit campus for placements. The highest package offered in the 2023 batch is 65.6 Lpa, and the average package is around 17.35 Lpa.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total fee for 2 years is 19.53 Lakh which includes the hostel and mess charges as well. The scholarship is available for Female candidates and for toppers of the batch. Coming to placements, the average is 17.35 LPA. The average of the top 100 students in the batch stands at 25 LPA. The highest salary offered is 65.6 LPA.

Campus Life :

There is something going on at any given time on campus. There are several clubs and committees organizing various events. The annual fest is called Passion which generally happens in December. Chakrvyuh, organized by the sports committee, is an event to which the entire B-school fraternity looks forward every year. It is known as the "Olympics of B-school." Research & Consultancy Enterprise (RACE), the official consulting club of IMT Ghaziabad, organizes Koncentrix, which is a National level consulting symposium, comprises of multiple events. They also organize events like IMFC, Fireside Chat, etc. Then there are clubs like Markup, Finesse, E-cell, and many more, all run by students.

Hostel Facilities :

Most of the rooms are double sharing. Hostels are fully air-conditioned, with ACs installed in all the rooms. It is compulsory for all the students to live in a hostel, and given how the campus is active 24*7, it is needed as well.

There's 100% placement this season but it's not mandatory that every student will get placed. You need to work hard for getting placed but you get all the help from the institute for your successful placement.

Placement Experience:

When we first start college, we have a month-long foundation term under our belts. Around the end of August, our first term begins, and by the end of September, companies are starting to approach us about summer internship opportunities. At SIP week, several large corporations made extremely generous offers, including Mondelez, which offered 1 lakh 50 thousand, Bajaj Auto, which offered 1 lakh 60 thousand, Pernod Ricard, which offered 2 lakhs per month, and Zydus Wellness, which offered 1 lakh per month. Both final placements for seniors and summer internships for juniors had 100% placement rates.

Course Curriculum Overview:

To explore more career opportunities in my domain, I wanted to pursue a degree in management. This led me to IMT. Our college currently has a 1:60 faculty-student ratio. The faculty are all learned people with extensive academic as well as Industry experience and the pedagogy is very well executed. One of the best in the country, for sure. The teaching is mostly case-based unless it is a quantitative subject. MBA is a rigorous program and most colleges offer the trimester system where a huge amount of exams, presentations, assignments, and quizzes will keep you on your toes all the time. Be well prepared to work beyond normal hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have given several entrance exams for different courses but when I get to know about MHRM, it attracts me a lot because it was the first time University introduce a specialised course in the management field. The faculty and student ratio is 1:20. All faculty members are highly qualified and have teaching experience across the country and out of the country as well. All have done PhD in different domains. They adopt the very interactive teaching method because the lecture method will not work at the college level. The term exams were held very timely because each semester has 6 months duration, so after the first 2 months, there was the 1st unit test and after 4 months again 2nd unit test and after 6 months of teaching there were term or semester exams. The level was very moderate because easy to difficult level-type questions were asked in the exams. So there was very difficult to pass the exams.
