You cannot depend on this course and expect offers from companies after completing the program. The brochure provided initially, the various job opportunities are mentioned which is quite misleading. The course is conducted by the IIM Raipur faculty itself. UpTop has not much connection with the students at all. People join this course eager to switch domains or change jobs. But this course fails to help in any of this. The course is just a source of making free money and misleading people. So if you or anyone you know is going for this course, please stop them before they fall into the pit.

Life at IIM Raipur

IIM Raipur campus has 5 new hostel buildings, which are aesthetically designed and well furnished. The hostel has individual rooms with attached washrooms. It is well equipped with facilities like the wifi, hot-water facility, cooling systems, laundry facility, and banking facilities with ATM counters.

A typical day at IIM Raipur starts at 8.30 am with the lectures till 5.30 pm. There is usually a 15-minute break between these lectures when the students would rush towards the cafeteria to have a cup of coffee or some would usually use that time to make up for the lost hours at night. Then there is a lunch break at 2.30 pm and then the class continues for 3 more hours.

After these hectic classes, the students spend their time in sports, gymming, studying, or spending leisure time wandering around the campus. The dinner is usually at 8.30 pm when the students are seen discussing homework over the dining table. IIM campus remains alive till 3 - 4 am at night with students discussing their assignments and presentations and going for a quick Maggi break in between.

LIFE AT IIM Raipur

Admission:

Admission at IIM raipur is through CAT exam for which we have to fill a registration form which is mandatory, followed by recieving CAP email and Personal interview. The initial criteria for applying for CAT online form was 60% in 10th and 12th.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum at IIM Raipur is diverse and vast, In the first year they teach us marketing, operations, Hr, and finance with that we have a very good number of faculty with very vast knowledge and wisdom.

Truth

For getting into IIMs, there are a few criteria as follows: 1) CAT Percentile (94 for general category): For every aspirant CAT entrance exam is a must. 2) Graduation 50%: there should be a minimum of 50 percent marks in the graduation. 3) Personal Interview: Lastly PI will be there and you have to get through the PI as your cumulative marks.

In India, the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur was founded in 2010. The Institute is renowned for providing high-quality instruction and having knowledgeable teachers. Students at IIM Raipur will receive a solid grounding in management ideas and practises through the course curriculum. What I needed was this!

The admission process was flawless. I opted for IIM Raipur. Everything including documentation was online. The required documentation that could not be produced during registration can be given in Dec 2022 (Admission date-24/06/2022).

The course curriculum is good. As a 1st-year student, I feel that all the subjects are relevant and interesting enough. The interaction in the class is very much different and engaging. The rigor is very high although.

IIM Raipur - The Panther's Den

I am currently pursuing MBA from IIM Raipur. I have appeared for CAT 2021 and received shortlist calls from IIM Kozhikode, CAP calls, new IIMs, and others by IIMS. The application form can be found on the official website. The application form fee is around 2000-2500. The application window is open from the second week of August to mid of September. Once the candidate has received the shortlist call, gd/pi process is intimated to you via email. The gd/pi mainly focuses to know the candidate better and the candidate is judged on various parameters. The evaluation criteria for each business school is different from the other. The gd/pi process is smooth as it could be. The faculty sitting on the other side, tries to know the strength (soft skills and knowledge skills) of the candidate. They ask questions more related to your resume and your educational background and experience. Improvement - A proper feedback could be sent to students where they can improve on if they are not qualified

PGP is the flagship course of IIM Raipur, which gives you an overall picture of all the various functions of a company. Considering the subject knowledge, the course provides in-depth knowledge on various functions of a company such as finance, HR, Strategy, Operations, and IT.

A purview of my IIM Raipur adventure

The Admission process is divided into 2 parts: CAT Get the calls from IIMs and clear GDPI Starting with CAT, you can register for the exam in August when the examination forms are released and the application fee varies yearly, during my time it was 1000Rs. This common application test is accepted by all the IIMs, FMS, IMT, and some other B-schools as well. It is conducted by a different IIM college every year. The application window is usually open for two months from August to September. The CAT comprises three sections that test different capabilities: 1. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension 2. Data Integration and Logical Reasoning 3. Quantitative Ability Every college has a specific sectional and overall cutoff to be eligible to get a call but the basic eligibility criteria are getting 50% in 10th, 12th, and graduation. The number of seats at various colleges also varies and a certain percentage is kept fixed for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories.

The course that I am enrolled in Post Graduate Programme in Management being of my Journalism Background and a strong interest in Marketing and communications I opted for this course to achieve holistic development and to make a career in strategy consulting. IIM Raipur has an excellent faculty: student ratio of 1:68 and the faculty are highly qualified and experts in their domain. We also have a lot of guests and faculty visiting the campus from all over the world. Our course curriculum follows a review method which happens after each Trimester and the identity of the students is not disclosed in any case. The exams are conducted twice every trimester and are divided into mid-term and end-term exams. The exams are taken very seriously here and the preparation requires one to attend the classes seriously, make notes and study diligently before the exams. It is not like one has to study every day but discipline is the key to passing efficiently and with flying colors.

Life At IIM RAIPUR

The shortlist for an interview is received based on the CAT percentile. After that, a detailed form is to be submitted post which the interview is conducted. The interview is generally for half an hour based on the form filled, resume and previous work experiences.

In the second year, the students are given the opportunity to choose their subjects from a set of freshly revised subjects. Based on the selections, guest faculty are invited from premium B schools for subjects not having in college faculty. The college is appreciated for its marketing faculty.
