The university's main campus is in the town of Loughborough.


The campus is located in central England lying close to Coventry City center and extending into Warwickshire. It is bordered by countryside view, with Tocil woods, local cycling paths, and nature reserves. Birmingham and Coventry is situated close to the campus. 


Library

The Pilkington Library opened in 1980. It covers 9,161 square metres over four floors with 1375 study places – up from 780 prior to the renovation in late 2013. The library has a history of undertaking research in the field of library and information work. There is an open access area, where students are allowed to take in cold food and drinks as well as to engage in group discussions.

Campus Life

Despite its incredible size, everything you need for a convenient student life is within close walking distance. To get to academic buildings, sports pitches, the Students’ Union and the halls of residence, you will be strolling through the university’s wonderfully maintained open spaces and gardens. In 2018/19, the university campus was awarded Green Flag status which recognises the nation’s best green spaces. When it comes to the university's abundant facilities, you’ll be spoilt for choice. On campus, the university has bars, restaurants, cafés, dining halls, hotels, two gyms, a medical Centre and pharmacy, an opticians, a dental practice, a hairdressers, launderettes, a taxi rank and a large nightclub. There is never a shortage of activities to get involved in during your free time on campus. Loughborough has a huge range of clubs, societies and events – all of which have unique social calendars of their own and offer endless opportunities to make lifelong friends.


Various bars, cafes, and shops are situated on-campus. It also has new sports and well-being hub, an art center, and private/group learning spaces. There are more than 300 student-run societies and clubs available, alongside two theatres, a studio, and a concert hall.

City Life

Loughborough is the largest town in Leicestershire with a population of over 55,000. The location is also ideal for exploring the cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby, as well as only being an hour and a half from London. The city is also close to a variety of tourist attractions such as the Peak District National Park, Sherwood Forest and the National Space Centre. With Charnwood Forest next door, the beautiful countryside is never far away from you. Loughborough and the surrounding area boasts a wide variety of great food. Indian, Chinese, Australian, Mexican, Thai, Italian, English and Malaysian restaurants can be found alongside independently owned gastro pubs, cafés, delis, national chain coffee shops, fast food outlets and restaurants. The town has all shopping needs covered, with independently owned boutiques as well as national chains such as Next, Topshop and Boots. For a larger choice, Nottingham and Leicester are both within easy reach of Loughborough.


The city offers green spaces, buzzing nightlife, a young student population, and multiculturalism. It is considered one of the top 10 student cities in UK and has some amazing art centers and theatres. It hosts a variety of music festivals. There is an array of businesses in Coventry benefiting from the international student population. The unemployment rate of the city is around 3.7%.
