#### Ques. Is NIT Puducherry for ECE better than IIITDM Kancheepuram for mechanical?

● Top Answer By Sakshi Gupta on 25 Oct 21

Ans. Opt for IIITDM Kancheepuram for Mechanical rather than ECE at NIT Puducherry. Here are some reasons as to why I feel so. Faculty: The faculty members at IIITDM Kancheepuram are highly experienced, some of them even have PhDs from the top IITs. At NIT Puducherry the faculty are not that experienced and are also few in number. Infrastructure: IIITDM Kancheepuram’s campus is excellent and appropriate for an educational institution. NIT Puducherry is still functioning from the temporary campus due to construction on the main site. Placements: NIT Puducherry is only known for its placement opportunities provided to its IT students. The rest of the department receives average placement offers. But IIITDM Kancheepuram provides great placements and maintains that record every year. Categories Mechanical Engineering at IIITDM Kancheepuram ECE at NIT Puducherry Course Fee 5.25 lakh 5.49 lakh Placement Percentage 75% 65% Highest CTC 10 LPA 15 LPA Average CTC 7 LPA 4 LPA Recruiting Companies Saint Gobain, L&T, Adobe, Zentrum Labs, etc. Emphasis, Capgemini, L&T, Mu Sigma, etc. Therefore, IIITDM Kancheepuram will be a better choice as here you can excel in your studies, get clear concepts about every topic. #### Ques. Is it worthy to join Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata for Mechanical Engineering?

Ans. If you have any plan to choose mechanical engineering then avoid any of the colleges in West Bengal. JU, IIT KGP, IIEST, and NIT Durgapur these colleges are excluded.  Considering all provided facilities by the Heritage Institution which includes well-maintained labs and amazing faculties. Even then it is not recommended for Mechanical Engineering as the placement isn’t up to the expectations.  But if we look at other branches like CS, ECE, IT or Electrical these courses have comparatively better placements. Moreover, you may experience the same in other colleges as well, which include Techno, IEM, etc.  Thus, it is recommended to make a choice at other institutes like VIT or SRM for Mechanical Engineering. Read more

#### Ques. What is the level of placement in a mechanical branch of LNCT Bhopal? Will it be better to do mechanical engineering from it?

Ans. Mechanical Engineering is an evergreen branch and considering the placement rate of LNCT, which is 75-80%, it hardly provides any placements to the mechanical branch students. It means the mechanical branch students don't have the core placements.  In the year 2020, there were 3-4 companies that came to the campus for the core placements and took a very less number of students. Therefore, there are very few placement opportunities for a mechanical branch student in LNCT Bhopal. There are either no core placements or else the Institute will ask students to apply for the marketing companies and get a placement in that domain.  But then, if a student is good with the skill set and has good abilities, prepare for the exams like GATE, ONGC. It will help him/her in the future.Read more

#### Ques. How good is Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering for a BE in mechanical engineering?

Ans. Yes, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is good for Mechanical Engineering. Be it faculty, labs, department, infrastructure, branch, or any other aspect, the college is a perfect fit.  The only disadvantage of DSCE Bangalore is that it doesn't provide any offers from core companies. The students of the mechanical branch end up getting a job in the IT sector. If any core job offers are available, these companies will only hire students in single digit.  Companies like Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra hire students irrespective of the branches. If a job in the IT sector suits you after graduating from the mechanical branch, then you can opt for Dayanand Sagar College for Engineering as it is the best college. It will furnish a job but in the IT sector.Read more

### Fee Structure And Facilities:

The course fees that I had to pay for my course was 33,000 which was pretty feasible, considering the facilities that our institution offered us. We had to pay the fees on semester basis. This fees included all the basic components such as examination fees, laboratory fees, tuition fees and many more.

I had always wanted to read in this institution. After completing my three years Diploma course in polytechnic, I got an admission in this institution. My selection was through a counselling conducted by the Director of Technical Education. My name was on the second merit list.

### Placement Experience:

The institution organized two types of placement programs for us. One was the summer internship program and the other was the overseas summer internship program. After the completion of our sixth semester these internship programs were organised.

### Faculty:

the faculty of the college is very good and most of them are educated from Indian Institute of Technology or National Institute of Technology and have a lot of work experience in their field. They are all very supportive

You have to apply for TNEA exam. The college admission is on the basis of entrance examination that is conducted by the state and your marks and rank in the examination decide your program and admission in the college.

### Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite good and there is a lot of focus on research and student spend a lot of their time in workshops building up new projects and assignments that they have got. Exams are held semester wise

### Course Curriculum Overview:

BE mechanical engineering is the course which has the duration of 4 years.  good course structure and focuses a lot on research work. The syllabus is updated as per the changes made and the evolution in technology. The days at the institution is generally very hectic and exams too are very tiring.

### Faculty:

The faculty of the college is appointed with the focus in quality education of students. They are well qualified and trained with a great experience. They have good command over their respective subjects. They also encourage students in every possible way and help them when they need.

### Fee Structure And Facilities:

The fee structure of the program is around 1 lakh 70 thousand which is feasible as per the demands and popularity of the course among the students. So, it will not be wrong to say that the fees is affordable as per the education and facilities provided by the institution.

### Course Curriculum Overview:

Mechanical students have the potential to experiment in various areas for career choices, if we compare them with other department students. The student faculty ratio could be roughly 1:40 The faculty is well qualified, but well. Qualified does not necessarily mean a good teacher. There are projectors used for teaching through slides, by many professors. There are good and bad teachers in every institution, it really doesn't depend on them if you wanna pass in an engineering exam. It thoroughly depends on the students. But yes, the teachers do help if we have any doubts. There are two terms in each year, so 8 terms throughout the course. Each term is divided in insem exam, practicals/viva exams, and end sem exams. The difficulty to pass varies randomly. But yes, if you are opting for mechanical course, you will have to study a lot. Unnecessarily lot.

### Campus Life:

Life at the campus is not anything like an adventure or anything as they depict in the movies. But yes, this college has a positive vibe around the campus. Sinhgad karandak, and tectonic are two annual fests celebrated with great enthusiasm. Library is limited to its resources if you want to study something off topic or outside the curriculum. The classroom is well equipped with benches, projectors, board. No complains there. Extra curricular activities are not paid attention to as much as they should be by the faculty. There are various Instagram pages of the college, and whatsapp groups too. Students of the college are friendly and helpful. But no official club or groups or websites.

### Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements in fourth year. Companies like tcs, Accenture, cognizant, Infosys, etc have visited the college each year. But the placements numbers are not that appreciable. Highest package you can dream of is 6 to 7 lacks per annum. Average might be as low as 2.4 lpa Placements vary according to the department. MECHANICAL : 5 to 10% Comp : 80 to 90% Civil : 0 to 1% EXTC : 5 to 10% IT :70 to 80% Most students opt for higher studies, some opt for off campus placements.

The life at the campus is mind blowing. The college is having a campus of 14+ acres with a very good environment. The College is famous for its Annual fest i.e "YASH" held in the month of February for 1 week each year. There are no. Of techfest held such as Hackathon, Mechnova, Cadmaster etc.The college is having very well equipped library with the books and journals. There are Various competitive exam books in the library which is very good for students who wants to crack any competitive exams after engineering. The classroom is very Posh and gets cleaned 2 times each day. There are various sports such as hockey, football you can participate from the college by enrolling your name in sports at sports room. There are Various clubs for extra curricular activities such as rotaract club, Nss club, Poetry Club, Art club, There is a students association in each branch who provides and enriches the Knowledge of the freshers.

### Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose Mechanical Engineering Course in the YCCE Nagpur because College has a face in central india because of Mechanical Engineering only. This branch provides Various Knowledge in the core sector and there are Industrial visits in each semester for upgrowth of your knowledge. There are very well experienced faculties having experience above 30+ years. There are 180 students studying in each year in Mechanical engineering. The ratio between boys and girls are 80:20.The faculties are well experienced and having qualifications in B.Tech, M.tech, PhD, MSC and Bsc.The teaching Method is very good students are provided more with Practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge. There are 3 mid semester exams and one end semester exams in each semester. The best of two is considered in Mid semester exams. The mid semester exam is easy to pass but you have to study hard for End semester exams.

### Placement Experience:

The highest package offered in YCCE Nagpur in the year 2019-20 is 25lpa.The placement scenario in this college is very good as compare to other colleges in Nagpur. The students from 7th sem become eligible for campus placements. There are number of companies such as Tech Mahindra, Ultratech cement, Mu sigma, Adani power, Reliance, Tcs, Infosys visits in the college every year. The average package offered in this college is 3.6lpa.The highest Package offered till now is 25lpa and the lowest package is 3.6lpa.85% students get placed in this college every year.My plans after completing the degree is to get specialization in design in IIT or a Psu Job.

### Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose mechanical engineering because I liked this department over others. This institution has a good faculty with faculty student ratio of 1:15. The facilities are pg degree holders (M. E/ M. Tech) and many are PhD holders. They teach the concept and will make sure that students will understand through practical learning. It has a good lab facilities to update ourselves through practical learning. This college has 2 main internals and 1 improvement test per semester. The best 2 out of 3 will be considered into internals. Passing is quite easy based on our effort

### Placement Experience:

It provides an average placement results. In my mechanical stream 91% of students are placed. The average package was around 3lpa. The placement is not too bad or good. Overall institute with all branches have a good placement records. From the mid of 5th semester students train themself for further interview. Companies visit are Renault Nissan Worksbot Wipro Vuram technology Highest package was 10lpa (byjjss) Average package is around 3lpa Around 92 students getting placed. Planning to nokm

### Campus Life:

They conduct annual day function every year in the month of February. Every department conducts some events like workshops on any particular topic, symposium and so on. It has a huge library in our college with 10000+ books. The library covers almost everything. For subject related books to general books. It also has newspaper and magazines. College has a huge support on sports. Almost every sports are played here. It has a band team, dance team, MoC team and so on.

### Remarks:

It has good library facilities and has access to almost every required book. Has hostel for girls and boys. Also ground for conduction of fests. It also gives access to agnel gym and sports complex including basketball, swimming, athletics, football. Every department has different floor. Washrooms of new buildings are spacious and always well maintained. Wifi has now been implemented and works fair enough, classrooms are spacious and clean, laboratories have almost all required instruments.

### Placement Experience:

The quality of placements is average and not worth the hard work you put in these 4 years. As per the year 2018-19 76 companies visited across all branches i.e. mech, cs, elec, IT, entc and 69% students were placed. The highest salary- 12 lakhs, avg salary- 5-6 lakhs. I haven't sat for the placements yet so I prefer not to say anything about the how they were conducted or if there was any support from the department as even though my seniors tell that they were fair enough.

### College Events:

Location as such is good, close to bus stand, share auto is available from the station. But there is no nurse room or anything in case of emergency we have to take ourselves to college that to if we miss some test because of injury we have to give retest and give write up even if ur arm is broken or they'll give us extremely less internals n make us come for unwanted retest which drags on till the practicals. only best feature are the few good teachers

### Campus Life:

Aissms college also known as ' All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society's ' college of engineering is one of the top colleges of pune and has a lush green campus, with a blend of modern and traditional architecture. The college was founded in 1992 and has been ever-glowing since. The laboratories are huge and have all the necessary equipment available. Also the hostel facilites are quite good and the mess serves good food. There is a huge ground for sports and overall hygiene is maintained

### Placement Experience:

Placements of the college are fairly good. The placements of the Computer and IT department are great but of the ENTC department not so good. The average salary is of 2-3 lakhs per year and that to not all students are placed. About 60-70 % are placed but the rest have to find a job of their own. Companies like Siemens, Cipla,Syntal,BridgeStone, etc come here for the campus placements. The highest salary offered is of 6-7 lakhs. The college is pretty supportive of the students.

### College Events:

The college has a really good campus life. The cultural and technical fest of ' ALACRITY ' is celebrated with great enthusiasm. There are more than 50 competitions in which students from all over Pune take part in. The entry fee is like 50 rs and the winners have good cash prizes also. The winners of the competitions are felicitated by the director on the main stage during the final day and also there is a DJ where everybody enjoys a lot and the event is great fun.

### College Events:

My college has got onee of the best to best environment according to me. Because there are many different fest arranged by college for their student like sports, games, cultural, technical, hackathons, and many too. One of the biggest fest in Mumbai is arranged by our college called Alegria- The festival of joy. It has many bigg events in which many biggest bollywood celebrities and artist comes. It too consist of concert night, comedy night, DJ night. College too have their football, cricket, basketball, volleyball etc team anyone can join. Also different seminars on industrial knowledge are arranged by the colleges.

### Course Curriculum Overview:

The overall academics is based on university provided curriculum and which consist of two semester exam per year. Mid semester and end semester exams are there. In that we have two unit test exam per semester whose marks are taken into consideration for the final results. Also we have practical exams in each semester along with viva exams. The quality of teaching is quite good as compared to other college. The teachers can be approached by students any time and they are always ready to help their student. Different workshop are arranged by college to enhance technical knowledge.

### Placement Experience:

Placement are quite good in our college. Many big companies came last year for placement in our college and also this year too it is expected that much more companies will arrive with good packages for placements. Placement specially for the Computer engineering and Information Technology branches are very much good. Average Salary offered by companies to the students is like 3.5 to 4.5 LPA depending on the requirements. Placement department helps students to create the placement activity process very easily and efficient manner.
