Ques. How do I study biochemistry for the PGMEE/AIIMS-PG/PGIMER Exam?

● Top Answer By Sanskriti Nigam on 04 Nov 22

You must open the previous year's exam papers of Biochemistry. Mark all of the topics in your biochemistry textbook where previous questions have been asked. There is a good chance that questions on these topics will be asked again in future exams. This is especially true for PG Entrance exams in Biochemistry, Dermat, Psychiatry, and Physiology. If you are an MBBS student, first watch the Kaplan biochemistry videos, then the Lippincott illustrated biochemistry videos, and finally the harper Kaplan videos. You will understand the concepts and there will be no need to memorize any reactions....Read more

Ques. How much Hard is to get an MD/MS seat through NEET PG or AIIMS PG?

● Top Answer By Sahil Khurana on 08 Jan 21

To be very honest, to get an MD/MS seat through NEET PG or AIIMS PG is not an impossible task. It requires a lot of focus, dedication, and appropriate preparation. The table below will give some recent insights about NEET PG and AIIMS PG. Total Number of MD + MS + Diploma seats under NEET PG (Government + Private) 27,979 Total Number of MD+ MS+ Diploma Government seats under NEET PG 17,921 Total Number of MD + MS seats under AIIMS PG 680 Number of candidates registered for NEET PG (2020) 1,67,102 Number of candidates qualified NEET PG (2020) 89,549 Number of candidates registered for AIIMS PG (2020) 30,000 (approx.) Key highlights: The main thing to keep in mind is that ‘Focus and Dedication’ make everything sorted. You must focus on proper preparation from the 1st year of MBBS. You will be required to do an internship after 4 years of MBBS. The time spent during the internship can be used in preparation for NEET PG or AIIMS PG.  For some candidates, taking a drop of a year for preparation suits best. While for the rest, preparation along with internship and regular practice is enough. It is very difficult to manage all subjects in a short period of time. The syllabus for the exam is also not fixed. Getting a seat in AIIMS PG is definitely a more difficult option than in NEET PG. For candidates having full faith, they should have a more refined and clear in-depth concept for the exams. If you are dedicated from the beginning, it is very easy to secure a seat through any entrance exam. Having a proper strategy from the initial days is the key to success in every competitive stage....Read more

Ques. What books should I use for AIIMS PG (I am studying first year MBBS now)?

● Top Answer By Nishant Jaiswal on 08 Jan 21

For a first-year MBBS student, any special preparation for AIIMS PG is not necessary. But following some books as listed below would help in overall development. Subject/ Discipline Book/ Author Physiology (1st year) Guyton Anatomy (1st year) Grays and BDC Biochemistry (1st year) Lange/ Harper’s/ Sathyanarayan Pathology (2nd year) Robbins Microbiology (2nd year) Ananthanarayan Pharmaceuticals (2nd year) KD Tripathi/ Lange Forensics (2nd year) KSN PSM (2nd year) Park Ophthalmology AK Khurana/ Parson ENT Dhingra MCQs for 2nd and 3rd year Arvind Arora Key Highlights: The first task is to build a stronghold on all basic concepts. The syllabus of PG entrance is based entirely on topics from MBBS. So, the first year is a vital part of the syllabus which needs to be covered well. Reading the standard syllabus books is actually enough during the initial years. Books like Guyton, Grays, and Harper are good for both the MBBS course and PG entrance. Moreover, covering the syllabus from point to point is the overall necessity. Only after clearing the theoretical concepts through standard syllabus books, it is advised to practice MCQs for entrance like AIIMS PG.  If you are done with the syllabus and have practiced enough, you can opt for a standard crash course for AIIMS PG. Having a consistent pace helps to extract the best out of college life, and achieve the ultimate goal at the same time. Studying every day to some extent and covering topics consistently decreases the one-time workload....Read more

Ques. Which one is tougher, AIIMS PG or USMLE?

● Top Answer By Sanchita Dasgupta on 07 Feb 22

USMLE is more difficult than AIIMS PG. If you clear AIIMS PG, you will get a residency. This is not the case with USMLE. As there are several other factors at play. If you have a decent rank in AIIMS PG, you will get your preferred subjects barring a few. For USMILE, it's hard to get a few subjects, even with a ridiculously high score. The interview and visa are the other two unpredictable factors for USMILE. USMLE is more expensive. The entire selection process alone will cost over lakhs. USCE fees are separate.  You can appear multiple times for AIIMS PG. It’s not the same with USMLE. If you fail in the examination, you can appear again but they will factor in your previous failure during your selection. Also, if you get a poor score, you can’t improve on it. After your internship, you can appear anytime for AIIMS. While USMLE prefers fresh graduates. ...Read more
