For the ICSE Class 10th Exam 2023, CISCE has decided to reduce the syllabus for English language and Indian language courses along with other 15 subjects including History, Civics, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry etc. The reduced syllabi are available on the official website of CISCE under ‘Publication’s tab’.

ICSE 10th English Syllabus
ICSE 10th Syllabus for English includes two papers namely, English Language and Literature. Both papers comprise 100 marks each including 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for internal assessment. Paper 1- English Language
In paper 1, there will be 5 types of questions-
- 300-350 words paragraph to evaluate punctuation, syntax, the correctness of grammar and spelling.
- Write an informal letter with address, introduction, conclusion, etc.
- Write an e-mail or short notice based on the provided information.
- Unseen passage- Students have to answer the asked questions by reading the provided passage.
- Short answer type questions to evaluate candidates' knowledge of functional grammar, structure and English usage.
