The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has announced scholarships for students of Master of Design (MDes)-International Excellence Scholarships (IES) and Top Universities Scheme (TUS). Both scholarships are designed as entry-based scholarships, aiming to attract international students seeking higher education in Hong Kong. The initial nominations will take place in late January 2023. The scholarship awards are limited, hence it is advised to apply as early as possible for priority consideration.

PolyU’s Master of Design program ensures that students receive the necessary support for achieving their career aspirations. During the first year, students learn from top-class interdisciplinary education and research. After graduation, they will be offered a 12-month “IANG” visa to live and work in Hong Kong. They can seek employment, take career mentorship, start up grants, and incubation schemes from PolyU and Hong Kong R&D bases (e.g. Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks). Around half of the non-local alums chose a post graduation career in Hong Kong, and those with less work experience reported a salary of around HKD250,000 per year (approx USD32,000 as per the exchange rates in Oct 2022).
