NUI Galway is a great university in terms of highly educated faculty, infrastructure, and quality education. I selected to study at NUI Galway due to the good quality of education, a short-term course of 9 months with NFQ level 9, and the interesting subjects in the curriculum.
Course Curriculum :
The Curriculum for my course was very wide, we got to learn about the research side of things to the industrial side of things. Major learning takes place in the final project as we have to construct our thesis over the whole course duration, many students also work in the same field as their final project's field. As for industrial exposure, we visited a wind farm that demonstrated wind turbines from a closer perspective.

Placement :
NUI Galway doesn't have campus interviews, companies do not visit the university to hire students. Students have to apply for jobs online on different job portals such as jobs. ie and LinkedIn. The graduate salary in Ireland varies from company to company but a rough estimate would be 25,000 - 35,000 Euros per year for a fresher. For my course, approximately 60 to 80% of the students got placed within 6 months after finishing the course.
Internship :
I interned at a startup "Hession Energy" for 4 months in Galway, Ireland. There is no in-course internship for my course, the internship application was done online. There was no stipend for the internship.
Events :
NUI Galway has one of the most beautiful campuses in Ireland. Situated along the Corrib river, it was lush green nature with beautiful walking and cycling tracks. NUIG has a wide selection of clubs, societies, and extracurricular activities to choose from. It has some respected research programs available and students across the globe come to do their PhDs here.

Faculty :
The faculty at NUI Galway is highly educated in different subjects. The professors are very helpful and are always ready to help out a student with their academics. They are easily approachable via personal meeting or email and gets back to you shortly. The student-to-professor ratio was 20:1 for my course.
Hostel :
Most international students choose to stay outside of campus as it is much cheaper than student accommodation. Generally, students share the house with other students or the landlord itself, and the rent around NUI Galway varies a lot depending upon the location of the house. A rough estimate would be around 450 to 550 Euros per month.
