What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Service to the society at large”

The main factor that keeps me connected with the education sector is my inclination towards service of people as I feel that teachers have the biggest responsibility towards nation building and empowerment. To prepare a student with good skills and good moral values is a service to the nation and above all humanity.

How would you describe your leadership style?

“Empowerment and Enhancement”

I believe that in today’s time, there is a need for a person who empowers his team to excel rather than just showing his authority as a leader. While dealing with students, I always try to test their knowledge and capability, and teach accordingly which I believe helps my students to discover their real potential. My management has a basic principle that, give your students the best teaching and resources, and they will be your truest admirers.

How is the education system in India structured differently from abroad?

“Practice-oriented and inclusively managed”

In Medical field, I believe that India's system of education is by far the best in the world as here the students are getting ample amounts of clinical exposure which they would not be getting in the foreign countries due to various restrictions. Number and diversity of patients here also gives the students more amount of practise which gives them experience. Moreover, in foreign countries, most of the treatment courses are guided by the insurance factors, whereas in India doctors are the decision makers in the clinical treatment of the patients. So here, there is more practical exposure and lively guidance, rather than managerial.

“Morality and equality”

Our curriculum is based on a mixture of skill, practical training, academics and moral values. We not only teach them the academics but also ethics, we explain to them how this is not just a profession but a noble cause where they get to save precious human lives. We inculcate moral value in our students through our curriculum. Our Institute is open for all the people, a student who have the potential, good calibre and get into our institute, we have no discrimination here. We here provide the same education, equal opportunity to each student irrespective of their background.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Institute are?

“Proper functioning and managing challenges”

I work as a link between the management and the students in the institute. So, I am the representative in front of the students and the management from both sides. I take forward the difficulties and queries, and present ways to resolve them. My responsibility towards the institute is to keep the functioning as smooth as possible and make sure that discipline is maintained.

What do you think should be the Institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“More futuristic learning and improvements”

As a medical college, our top priority in coming years is pacing up with the advanced technologies in Healthcare like AI and Data Science. We are working towards this by collaborating with premium institutes like the IITs, companies like Microsoft to develop some new technologies in this field. Moreover, COVID has taught us how important pandemic management is, so we are working towards being prepared for any kind of situation in the future through advancements in medical lines.
