Course Curriculum Overview:

I like book reading. I also love the way the human body is. It excites me differently. So I had chosen MBBS. Faculty is very high in number with 100% + required by NMC guidelines. Faculties are highly qualified and are very experienced in their respective subjects. They are very practical which makes their teaching interesting. We have a Part completion test every week with Terminals every 3 months and professional exams every year. Exams are conceptual and a good way for learning new things.

Campus Life:

We have our fest called AAGHAZ. It happens every year with great enthusiasm. We celebrate it like a festival every year. It refreshes us from the core to start the study again. We have the best sports complex in UP for a government medical College. Since we live on the campus of GBU, we have excellent campus life.

As this college is a government college, fees here are very nominal. I paid only 500 rupees for the college fees. And for the general category, the fees will be 50000 tuition fees and miscellaneous will be around 10000 fees. I got an SSP scholarship and we get 30000 rupees as a stipend when we work here as an intern.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of 5.5 years, comprises 4.4 years of studying and and 1 year of mandatory internship. There is a total of 19 subjects that are taught to us in 4.4 years. It needs very hard work and dedication to study. We need to be very punctual with clinical postings also.

Placement Experience:

The college placement is in the doon hospital in which u have to complete ur internship and can continue further in the same hospital after completing the internship or can join any other hospital which offers more salary. There's no unemployment in the MBBS course which makes it more secure as u can practice in any hospital of ur choice there's a lack of doctors in every hospital or u can even opening ur own clinic/hospital if u r capable. I am too looking forward to working on my own after completing my MBBS.

Campus Life:

The campus life includes all the extracurricular activities that all other colleges have with an annual fest FORNIX which includes 5 days of college activities like dance, singing, art, quiz, DJ night with celeb guests which occurs usually in Oct or Nov. The library contains all the books of mbbs curriculum which u can issue using the college id. Sports include cricket, football, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, etc. There are some NGOs like mefco run by college students and some other startups too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MBBS is of 5.5 years consisting of three parts in it, with the first part having non-clinical subjects, the second part with para-clinical subjects, and the final part having all the clinical Subjects. To become a doctor in India, you need to do MBBS, being a doctor was my dream that's what motivated me to take MBBS. The faculty-student ratio is best here compared to any other medical college. Not only UG but also PG SMS have a high number of seats. Most of our teachers are having more than 15 years of teaching experience and they are quite great at making the concepts easier for us. Exams are being taken on a regular basis. With unit tests every alternate week and term tests every three months.

Campus Life:

The campus life here is good. You also get to work in a hospital with India's highest OPD(Outpatient department ). The college fest is named SRIJAN held every year by the students' union of the college. As for the library, you get excess to all the major and minor books present as the college has its huge library. Also, Badminton court, lawn tennis court, multiple table tennis tables, swimming pool, reading room, cricket ground, football ground, etc. are among the amenities present in the college.

The fee structure of GMCH Chandigarh is the best in Northern India. It just costs 25k for a year that's just 2k/month isn't it sound interesting? And if you opt for hostels it just cost 15k/year that's 1k/month. That means you need to pay only 3k per month. And if that's equal to your pocket money, isn't it.

Ques. How is the life of an MBBS student at KJ Somaiya medical college, Mumbai?

● Top Answer By Nisha Khanna on 23 Mar 21

Ans. Like two faces of the coin, each and every college have its own positive and negative aspects. Let us look through a few of them in order to find out the student satisfaction. Positive aspects: Curriculum: Academics are taken very seriously here. The curriculum is well designed, portions are always completed on time and professors are always on hand if you need any help. Class strength: Entire batch will have only fifty students. So each one of you will get special attention. The student-faculty ratio is amazing.  Ragging free campus: So far there are no complaints of ragging on campus. And any complaints regarding the same will be taken seriously. The locality around campus is safe for women in all aspects. Location: If you live in Mumbai and wouldn't prefer traveling a long distance or do not wish to stay in a hostel, K J Somaiya is perfect for you.  Facilities: College offers you amazing facilities. Libraries are stocked. The hostel is next to the college. The canteen is amazing. The campus even offers you football turf, cricket ground, skating rink, and indoor table tennis hall. Private hospital: Being a privately funded hospital patients aren't scarce, but the place isn't overcrowded too. This gives you ample time for your PG preparation and also perfect clinical exposure. Negative aspects: High tuition fee: The fee is extremely high for an infrastructure which they offer. 3/4th of the college is non-air-conditioned. Girls’ hostels are pretty good but boys’ hostels are below average. Compared to other colleges, the needs are not fully met for the price you pay. Extracurricular activities: There is not much encouragement from the management for participation in extracurricular activities. Yearly fest namely 'Akarshan' is all that college has to offer to you. Strict attendance: Attendance is strictly maintained. If you fail to meet the minimum requirement you may be detained or your grades might be affected. If the positive aspects from your perspective outweigh the negative ones, then college life is pretty good at KJ Somaiya. If money is not your primary concern and if you prefer Mumbai to study then this is the perfect college for you!Read more

Ques. How is life as an MBBS student in JIPMER?

● Top Answer By Suman Sharma on 06 Oct 21

Ans. Life is exciting as an MBBS student in JIPMER. One of my friends studied there, and here’s what he mentioned about it. The campus is lush green. The weather is always good with clear skies and on clear nights stars are visible.  There is very little pollution so the stars are clearly visible at night.  The college starts at 8 AM and the professors are very punctual at that time so they don’t tolerate even a slight delay. Punctuality is a must here.  The students always have to dress appropriately and are not allowed to wear slippers. The exams conducted are lengthy with less time duration however it prepares students for the best.  It’s sometimes hard to deal with a patient in just 60 minutes even after knowing that they are in a lot of pain.  Students sometimes lose their cool and their patience.  The faculties are really nice and helpful.  They are also well-known personalities in their respective fields with lots of research or doctoral background.  In general the academic pressure was very high and students were loaded with many exams and strict attendance policy. You get to meet amazing intellectuals as guest speakers or during organized camps.Read more

Ques. How is an MBBS at Sharda University, as the fee structure is too high?

● Top Answer By Khushi Jha on 15 May 21

Ans. A friend of mine is doing an internship at Sharda University and is regretting each day he has to spend there. He says the money being spent for this purpose could have been put to better use. Sharda University spends a fortune on its marketing but fails to deliver the facilities. The faculty is least interested in teaching the students and taking care of patients. The junior doctors do most of the hard work. There are very few surgeries performed. In addition to that, even normal deliveries of a sufficient number are not done. The internship involves making fake patient files. This is what they do during their clinical postings. There are a lot of fees which are not mentioned in the advertisement(s). Other than these, Sharda University is a pretty popular college if you want to have fun. However, if you are serious about your life, look for other options.Read more
