Prof. Nishith Parida is designated as the Director of KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM). He graduated from G.B. Pant University and has completed his PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad. He has a rich experience of nearly 22 years spread across Agri-Input, FMCG and Financial Services sectors. 

Apart from this, he has worked with reputed companies like UPL, Marico, ICICI Group, Bharti Group, and VNR and more. He is proudly known for his well-honed expertise in the areas of sales & marketing, business development, commodities management, and academics. 

In an exclusive interview with Ayushi Mishra, Prof. Parida shares his valuable thoughts on the education industry, his leadership philosophy, and responsibilities as a Director.

Thoughts on Education Industry

I truly believe in J. M. Clark’s words, “Knowledge is the only instrument of production that is not subject to diminishing returns”. According to me, education is one such sector which facilitates to improve and create new knowledge and avenues for the students. Moreover, this sector helps in conceptualizing things easily, a practice that I had learned from this industry.

A leader who wishes to make a student’s education journey smooth

My philosophy of leadership is to simply welcome and accept the emerging challenges in the education sector. With this, I make sure to facilitate the students as well as my colleagues with the right kind of resources at the right point of time. It is necessary to address their needs as they are the backbone of this institute. Another responsibility as a leader is to build and maintain a healthy and harmonious relation within the student and staff members.

Industry equipped Curriculum and Outstanding Opportunities at KSRM

At KIIT School of Rural Management, we regularly update the curriculum as per the emerging needs of the industry. Students enrolling in our institute are groomed by practitioners turned teachers who provide them with experiential learning. In my view, an ideal environment should be a learner-centric and student-friendly one. And, I can easily say that our Institute follows the same. To meet this motto, the library hours are extended up to 10 PM and remain open even during holidays. The faculty members at the KSRM regularly interact with the students and provide them with academic as well as personal advice.
