University of Kashmir, Srinagar has taken a decision to promote postgraduate as well as professional undergraduate students of BA-LL.B, BCA and BBA to next semester based on the internal assessment.

The Head of the Departments of Kashmir University will schedule the internal assessments dates as per the convenience of the students in the coming days. 

For other professional degrees, the decision will be taken after consulting the respective department of higher education.

The decision was made after a meeting conducted by a committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor under the chairmanship of the Dean of Academics.

The committee has taken the decision based on the UGC recommendations of improvising a mode of assessments based on the student’s performance.

The University official said that there will be no Term End examination held for the upcoming semester the way it used to have in the past due to the current nationwide crisis. The students will be promoted to the next semester completely based on the marks obtained by them in the internal assessments, as reported by The Kashmir Monitor.

Earlier the KU students have appealed to the vice-chancellor not to conduct online examinations in this tense circumstances and have urged to follow the recommendations of UGC.

The ongoing online classes will be continued till August 15 and the internal assessment dates will be announced soon by the University officials.
