Eligibility for Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)

Interested candidates who wish to apply for the course are required to fulfill the following mentioned minimum eligibility criteria.

Candidates scoring minimum 50% in classes 10th and 12th from science stream are eligible to apply for the course. However, there is a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates.

As the ‘electrical and electronics’ in the title indicates, you need to have a good command over subjects like Physics and Mathematics as they are the base of the whole course.

A minimum aggregate score of 60% in the mentioned subjects Physics, Mathematics along with Chemistry in the higher secondary examination i.e. 12th is mandatory in most of the reputed institutes.

Also, Diploma and B. Sc. degree holders in Electrical and Electronics Engineering can get direct admission in B. Tech second year of the course.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering is the literal manifestation of best of both worlds.

Electrical & Electronics Engineering: Admission Process

The admission process is similar to the general admission procedure in most of the engineering colleges of India. Eligible candidates are provided admission on the basis of their rank and score in JEE MAINS exam, which is conducted at state level by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Two more additional rounds of group discussion & personal interview are also conducted, wherein candidate’s general aptitude for the course is tested.

Diploma and B. Sc. Degree holders are given admission on the basis of LEET ranking, where the mentioned degrees should be completed from a University approved by AICTE and UCG respectively, with a minimum percentage of 50% (general) & 45% (SC/ST) in Diploma and 60% in B. Sc. with Mathematics.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering: Top Colleges

Chiefly all the engineering colleges in India offer Electrical and Electronics Engineering course. However, not all of them are considered good for pursuing the course.
