Mr. Vijay Singh Pal completed his MA in Mass Communication. Currently, He is serving as Chief Operating Officer of “The International Academy of Fashion Technology”, which is the authentic training division of Fashion Design Council of Uttarakhand, an independent native professional from the field. How do you describe your leadership style in the education sector?

“Focus on building new leaders and guiding them from behind”

I want to build leaders and guide them from behind. I directly deal with people who are at the forefront of the execution which sometimes creates challenges in hierarchical organizations. International Academy of Fashion Technology, is a program run under the aims and objectives of Sauhard Vishwambhara Society duly registered under the Indian Society Act., 1860. The brand IAFT with its logo is duly registered under Indian Brand Registry, Govt of India, New Delhi.

How does the curriculum of IAFT ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Providing Students with Industrial Visits, meets, and seminars”

The academy was registered in 2005. The course curriculum has been prepared by designers Ajay Choudhary and Monit Khera, both alumni of NID (National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad). Though the course contents are part of the national curriculum on the subject, special attention has been attributed towards the latest trend in the world Garment Industry, addressing the requisites of new technologies employed to meet the International quality standards. Hence the special attention has been given to the practical industrial exposure with actual field substances encountering the real problems being taken up in every sphere of the Textile and Garment industry.

What would you like people to know about your Institute they may not know?

“The Courses Curriculum is taught in a comprehensive and integrated manner”

The best thing about the highlight of the Academy's course curriculum is that it has an integrated course densely compressed to recognize oneself as a complete designer after finishing the course. Unlike other courses run throughout the world, the aspirants are not asked to go through the individual courses in textile Fashion design, Merchandising, Accessory design, or computer graphics containing special software about Fashion Design and Pattern Making. The course curriculum of the academy has taken up the whole concept in an easily comprehensive mode and integrated every concept of fashion Design as a complete course in three years duration within the most economic criterion.

Have you introduced any new programs at your institution?

“Export Merchandising is the newly introduced program in the institution”

The Academy has introduced a new program "Export Merchandising '' enabling the students to explore the overseas markets for merchandise retailing digitally without waiting for a highly expensive stopover infra. The E-commerce concepts are very much in vogue, particularly in the present corona pandemics. The professional need not wait for a crowd gathering asking celebrities to showcase their valuable designs and products. The folk young models virtually not costing anything are allowed to drape into attires and present digitally by sitting at their homes. This has created an excellent opportunity for much talented youth in the country not only to empower themselves but also to empower the nation by earning hard currencies for the nation.

How do you guide your students to survive in such a competitive scenario?

“Providing students with versatile and quality based contents regularly”

The talents are identified only after stiff competitions. The cutting-edge sharpening provided to every candidate extends a highly viable and versatile capability among them to meet the global quality and presentation standards. 

The most important suggestion to the youth is to value their limited time, energy, and financial capacities. The personal resources are to be implied only after due and careful study of the present trend and scenario in National and International Markets. Any effort made towards empowering themselves should not be based only on the traditional courses and age-old practices. The duly line of course should be selected only after scrutiny and adequate pondering over the trend, time, and need of the individual capacities.

“Be a Job Donor instead of a Job Seeker”

The summary of the above line of empowerment gives us a unique style of leadership in providing the professional/vocational empowering every student to make themselves sufficient in earning their financial pride and helping them to become 'Job donors' instead of Job seekers, in light with the motivation provided by our national leadership.
