Should I go for an MBA in IIM Indore or wait another year for better opportunities?
You should go for IIM Indore. It is a reputed B-School with excellent facilities and academics. IIM Indore placements are also pretty good. During the 2022 campus drive, students received an average CTC of INR 25 LPA. BMW, Cisco, and Accenture Strategy were some of the major recruiters. Joining IIM Indore will be worth the investment.
CAT is highly competitive. You can’t be certain that you will get a good score next year. So, joining IIM Indore will be a wise choice.

Some of my friends recently graduated from IIM Indore. According to them, you should take it if you want to do an MBA in India.
- To begin with, the CAT and MBA admissions process has become highly competitive, and you may not have this opportunity again the following year.
- Second, your work-related responsibilities may increase in your second year, which may interfere with your CAT preparation efforts.
- Third, IIM Indore is one of the best B-schools in terms of infrastructure, and the teaching methodology is similar to that of IIMs A, B, C.
- The placements in IIMs A, B, C will, of course, be better, but not more than 10%.
So, make an extra effort at IIM Indore to stand out from the crowd and receive the best placements. So, if you think it's worth the risk to pass up this opportunity and try your luck again next time for the extra 10%, you can wait another year. Otherwise, go for it.
