MBA tech Mechanical from SVKM's NMIMS (2020)

NMIMS Mumbai is a good option for MBA. It ranks right after the old and top IIM. NMIMS Mumbai placements are excellent. Many national and multinational companies take part in campus recruitment. During placements 2022, students received an average CTC of INR 19.40 LPA.

The academics offered at NMIMS can be compared to premium management institutes. NMIMS employs a case-study-based teaching methodology. It has a tie-up with Harvard Business Review.

One of the drawbacks of the institute is the huge batch size. NMIMS student intake is over 500. Due to the large batch size, the competition during placement becomes extremely high.

Considering these questions, here some advantages and disadvantages are highlighted for the institute NMIMS.

Advantages

1) Location:

  • Mumbai is the best place to do an MBA, specifically if a student is concerned enough for the placement.
  • NMIMS is one of the best institutes in Mumbai, and it attracts a lot of companies in the campus recruitment process.

2) Exposure:

  • This institute offers a lot of exposure to book learning.
  • It provides WeCare internship programs for every student so that they could expand their knowledge beyond their textbooks.
  • Besides, this institute also has exclusive pedagogy and repository market data, which are essential to creating huge opportunities for the students.

3) Infrastructure

  • The institute possesses a stellar campus.
  • Rather students will get the best IT faculty as well as excellent lecture rooms.

4) Faculty

  • The college does an excellent job of recruiting and retaining some of the best faculty members in the country by fully using its position and reputation.

Disadvantages

1) Batch Strength:

  • The batch strength of the 2017-2019 batches was over 600.
  • As a result, there has been a decrease in placements.
  • The college administration has tackled this by raising the cut-off for the 2018 academic year, indicating a smaller batch size.

2) Fees:

  • NMIMS is unquestionably one of India's most expensive MBA programs, with tuition fees rising year after year (currently stands at 17.5 lacs for the course). Rent prices in Mumbai are also not helping this cause.

3) Hostels:

  • Since there are few hostels, the majority of the class stays outside.
  • This reduces student interaction and makes going to college more difficult.
  • Another disadvantage is the lack of on-campus living.

Finance is the flagship curriculum for this institute. However, Almost all top FMCG businesses are committed recruiters of NMIMS students, so marketing isn't far behind. The HR course is rapidly gaining popularity and is quickly becoming a highly sought-after course.
