Ques. Which college is better for a BBA, Symbiosis, Noida, or NMIMS, Mumbai?
● Top Answer By Kiran Chugh on 16 Jul 21
Ans.NMIMS Mumbai is a very popular and reputed college and it will be a very good option to pursue BBA due to its excellent curriculum and amazing facilities. One of my friends studied there and she highly recommends it.
The course curriculum at NMIMS Mumbai is well updated and includes some important subjects which are a part of CA foundation.
The students are being assigned various projects, assignments, and case studies which helps them gain practical knowledge and also improve their grades.
The faculty at NMIMS Mumbai is very talented and experienced and most of them have also completed their Ph.D. in their respective fields.
The placement scenario is also very good with top companies visiting the campus for interviews and recruiting many students with decent packages.
The average package offered here is 4 LPA and the maximum is 12 LPA.
The batch size is 240+ which is a drawback for the college and the fees here are around 7 lakhs for 3 years which is also on the higher side.
BBA at NMIMS Mumbai
Citibank, HSBC, IBM, Capgemini, etc.
Hence, NMIMS Mumbai is a very good college to pursue BBA courses in terms of academics and placements, and choosing this college over Symbiosis Noida will be a very good option.Read more
Ques. Which one is better, BMS at NM or BBA at NMIMS?
● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 09 Jul 21
Ans.BBA at NMIMS is a better option than doing a BMS at NM. NM College offers a Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS) degree which is affiliated with the University of Mumbai. NMIMS is deemed to be a university that offers a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA).
The biggest drawback of NM College or by extension the University of Mumbai is that the course has not changed over a long time and is not in sync with the current industry demand. The evaluation process of the University of Mumbai also lacks transparency.
NMIMS being a private deemed university is free to change its course according to the needs of the industry and thus offers better adaptability. The course curriculum is also highly interactive with lots of projects and presentations. This will help you not only to learn but also to gain experience. This is precisely the reason so many students opt for NMIMS despite its high fee.Read more
Ques. Is it worth spending 18 lakhs at NMIMS MBA (MUMBAI)?
● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 27 Jul 21
Ans.Do not believe in the ranking of the college. It will cost you if you are not a resident of Mumbai as the college does not have a hostel and spending this much amount for an MBA is really stupidity.
You will get an average package of around 12.5-13 LPA for core and 9-10 LPA for HR. Also, the college charges separate amounts for GDPI round and after the release of results, the college demands 9 lakh be deposited immediately within a week.
Also, it is believed that sitting in centralized AC and roaming in posh areas would not help in your overall development but exposure to different fields prepares you for the professional front.
Lastly, we can say that spending too much without availing facilities is not worth it. So abstain from getting admission here. Instead, take admission in other top management colleges where you get exposure to various other fields as well.Read more
Ques. Which college is better for a B.Tech, NMIMS or Symbiosis Pune?
● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 16 Jul 21
Ans.NMIMS and Symbiosis are not just colleges but brands. Since you are comparing both institutions, you should do it with certain parameters like the following.
Return on Investment (ROI)
Based on ranking, placement and exposure and location NMIMS is the clean winner. But, when you compare fees or the cost of living, NMIMS lags behind Symbiosis as it is quite expensive there.
Here is a brief comparison of the institutes.
You should prioritize your requirements and choose an institute accordingly.Read more
Ques. Which one is better: Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics or Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies for B.Com (hons)? Why?
● Top Answer By Kiran Chugh on 09 Aug 21
Ans.Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics would be a better option if you are keen on a less fee structure but still want quality education. It is a government-aided college affiliated with Mumbai University. NM College of Commerce and Economics has one of the best facilities. It is one of the old and reputed institutes.
NMIMS is a different university and the fee structure for B.Com (Hons) is also higher in comparison with NM College. Though the course curriculum is fantastic, the faculties are good and great facilities are offered. This college has a brand in itself.
The following table shows a brief insight on both institutions:

Ques. What is better, B.Sc. finance from NMIMS or CA?
● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 05 Jul 21
Ans.Choosing any field between CA and B.Sc Finance will lead you to growth in your future. But, it completely depends upon your interest. You won’t be dissatisfied if either one is chosen. Both will help you build your career nicely.
If you see, both the fields have their own pros and cons.
In India, till now, CA is seen as quite a respectable post. However the same is for engineers and B.Sc.
Even if you pursue B.Sc., you can still do CA and double the respect. As CA is a professional course so you can pursue it after B.Sc. until and unless you are inclined to do B.Sc. only.
Even if you are inclined to do B.Sc, take commerce to be CA in future.
As far as limiting your doubt, both are equally good courses when compared to their respective streams.Read more
Ans.The B.Sc Economics course offered by the Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics of the NMIMS Mumbai is great and will be a wonderful experience if you factor out the cost of the course.
The course is well balanced and the pedagogy not only includes core subjects but also from fields such as psychology, sociology, political science, IT, etc.
The institute also hosts many guest lectures and seminars which offer a better understanding of the real world.
The demerit of the course is that it is too focused and requires a lot of attention. Attendance is taken seriously.
The yearly fee for the batch of 2017-20 was INR 2.5 lakhs.
The university provides very limited accommodation options, so you need to live for yourself in Mumbai. Depending on your lifestyle and accommodation you will need another INR 3.5 lakhs to INR 7 lakhs per annum towards living expenses.
So even if you take the lower amount, you will need close to INR 18 lakhs to INR 20 lakhs for the whole 3 years of the undergraduate program.
Here are the placement stats released by the department for the batch of 2016-19.
Total number of students – 87
Number of students opting for placements – 18
Percentage of students placed who opted for placements – 77%
Highest salary – INR 11.60 lakhs per annum
Average salary – INR 4.60 lakhs per annum
Some recruiters – PwC, KPMG, Nomura, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mu Sigma, JP Morgan India Services, IDBI Federal Life, etc.
The experience is really good, but choose the institute only if you are willing to pay the huge fees for your undergraduate.Read more
Ques. Which is better M.Sc. Statistics from Mumbai University or NMIMS?
● Top Answer By Ankita Mitra on 28 May 21
Ans.One of my cousins is studying PGD in Applied Statistics at the University of Mumbai and knows every professor from UoM Statistics Department.
Here are some pros and cons of Mumbai University.
It has a qualified and highly skilled faculty. Professors have deep theoretical knowledge.
The statistics department has good industry contacts.
It offers good placement offers. The average salary recorded here is 8.8 LPA
Professors mostly focus on theory so you will not understand the statistics of applications.
Students are taught old tech software with which you cannot code SAS, R.
You won’t get a chance of doing an internship as vacations are mostly spent completing projects.
If you going for M.Sc at NMIMS, you will get an internship opportunity in a government organization. This will give you good exposure to the industry.
Therefore, NMIMS is better than the University of Mumbai for pursuing an MSC in Statistics. Also, you will get a good opportunity if you have completed a Masters in Statistics and solved 9 Actuarial science papers.Read more

Candidates who hold a graduation degree by doing a part-time course or via distance learning, externally, open school from recognized University are equally eligible to register as per UGC guidelines.
The college organizes placement drives for 4th-semester internships and most of the students get PPO’s according to the standard of industries.
More than 166 companies visited the campus as of 2019 records and have a tie-up with more than 300 companies.
Past recruiters of the college include Reliance industries limited, SAS, Morgan Stanley, FedEx, Axis Bank, Fidelis Macro Global Fund, Capgemini, Mahindra Group, etc.
The internship stipend ranges from 20,000 to 80,000 per month which could be considered pretty decent.
For the batch 2019-21, the placement season commenced a little early, and Reliance industries limited and SAS have already visited the campus and recruited students.
The details discussed above will assist you in acknowledging the college wisely for Masters in Data science you would like to prefer. However, the requirements must be considered a bit like the placements, fee,s and faculties to form sure your chances of getting admitted.Read more
Ques. Which college is good for MBA, Nirma University, Symbiosis Pune or Narsee Monjee Mumbai?
● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 17 Jul 21
Ans.It's not fair to put Nirma into the same category as NMIMS Mumbai and Symbiosis Pune. First and foremost, as many other students have remarked. As one of my friends studied at NMIMS, I would suggest you go for it.
Since under the SIU banner you did not name a particular college, I assume it is SIBM Pune.
The principal reason NMIMS scored over SIBM is its advantageous placement in Mumbai's financial centre.
It's an hour and a half drive from commercial and industrial areas like the Bandra Kurla Centre, Southern Mumbai, and Navi Mumbai. This allows students to go to high-profile companies such as SEBI, TOI, and JPMC for industrial trips.
Since NMIMS has more than 500 batch sizes, it continues to produce better average packages from other institutes in the same league.
The reputation and connection that NMIMS enjoys to the industry is a testimonial.
Zydus, Adani, Kotak, Axis Bank, etc.
Mindtree, Crisil, HSBC, Asian Paints, etc.
Berger, ICICI Bank, CitiBank, Hindustan Unilever, etc.
Over the years, NMIMS has demonstrated its success at national and international competitions. Some of the events in which our students have fared better with all the participants from the above-stated institutions include RB Mavericks, HUL Carpe Diem, and SABMiller's Brew-a-career.Read more
Ques. Which is best for MBA HR: SIBM Pune or NMIMS Mumbai or SCMHRD?
● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 16 Jul 21
Ans.The colleges that you have mentioned are quite old and reputed, leaving behind a history of a great placement record and a bright future.
Human Resources has become a promising field in today’s time. A good HR assures that the aspects of the business they work for proves to be fulfilled along with allowing the employees their own space wherein they give importance to the clients.
Based on certain parameters, allow me to compare all the three institutes so that it gets convenient to choose the B-School of your choice.
Crisil, HSBC, etc.
Berger, ITC, etc.
Mindtree, ICICI Bank, etc.
My suggestion would be to consider NMAT and even SNAP so that you get a better view to choose from. Some promising prospects are indeed offered by NMIMS and SIBM-P, but I believe you should go for that particular institute which is reputed for its HR department.Read more
Ques. Which college should I go SRM or NMIMS for CSE?
● Top Answer By Shivani Tiwari on 29 May 21
Ans.CSE at SRM is the best choice when compared to NMIMS. I have a relative and a close friend who graduated from these institutes, according to the reviews here is some analysis-
Infrastructure- SRM has a luxurious campus with a variety of facilities, State-of-the-art labs, libraries, Wi-Fi, a knowledge center, 4000 capacity AC auditorium, 100 online smart classrooms, Hostels with premium facilities, bookstores, dining options, cafeterias, prayer halls, gym and more.
Placement -Top salary USD 200,000 offered to NANO Researcher Mr. Shivaraman at California, USA. Nearly 100% placement of registered students at companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, Siemens, and others.
Scholarships- Fee waiver of 50% to students with above 95% in CBSE or State Board examinations. Founder's Scholarship-full waiver on tuition, books, hostels, and mess, plus a stipend of Rs.1,000 per month to top state, SRMEEE, JEE rankers.
There should be no comparison between SRM and NMIMS. Both are best but for different purposes, SRM is best for engineering and NMIMS is best for the management courses. If we talk of the better one then NMIMS Mumbai and NMIMS Bengaluru are best but only for MBA not for engineering.
The following table shows statistics for both institutes:
If you want to join SRM then, I recommend you choose the south campus of Chennai. Don’t worry about the fees if you can afford the Modinagar campus fees then you can afford the Chennai campus fee too.Read more
Ques. Please give an honest review for the NMIMS Mumbai campus for the BTech program?
● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 21 May 21
Ans.Here is a review of one of my friends who attended NMIMS Mumbai.
NMIMS holds a good and up-to-date Curriculum.
Even though most of the students come from rich family backgrounds, you won't feel left out, since many of the students here have a down-to-earth attitude.
The best part is there is No ragging, Not even a single case.
It offers good practical experience for the branches. The computer lab is well-equipped. The Civil and Mechanical department labs are also quite good.
Also, the syllabus is set to keep practical applications in mind, hence you start applying what you learn, to your major projects.
You will be trained to be industry-ready.
Most of the major recruiters prefer NMIMS students as they are trained to talk/behave professionally.
Also, Mumbai is the best place to start your “individual” life and the Nightlife there is great too.
NMIMS is an Expensive college.
The Living expenses are pretty high since you have to look for accommodation near Juhu/Andheri.
Join this college if and only if your family can really afford it.Read more
Ques. Is the NMIMS Bsc Finance degree worth the money?
● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 25 May 21
Ans.One of my friends pursued his B.Sc in Finance from NMIMS. Based on his input, I might be able to help you with your question.
All the demands and requirements of any corporation are assimilated into the curriculum.
The syllabus includes major subjects like Business Analytics (SAS Software), Alternative Investment Markets, Operation Research, Debt Markets, Financial Reporting Standards, or even Corporate Finance.
Theseare exclusive to NMIMS B.Sc. It can not be seen or found in any other syllabus within India.
Mumbai being the financial capital of the country provides us with better industrial exposure.
If you have any misconception about having fun while you are here, drop it already. As at NMIMS you probably would not have time to do so. Just so you are fit for corporate culture, they train you in such a way that you don't face any problem in the future.
Since you have an inclination towards Finance, you would realize that everything you had endured was worth it in the end. And if the situation is the opposite, you'd be left far, far behind in the Finance race pulverizing yourself under constant pressure.Read more
Ques. Which college is better for a BBA, Symbiosis Noida or NMIMS?
● Top Answer By Kiran Chugh on 09 Jul 21
Ans.One of my friends is a student of Symbiosis Center for Management Studies (SCMS), Pune and she suggests that pursuing your career from the institute can be a superior choice.
In a nutshell, SCMS offers a varied list of opportunities, either via internships (such as Grofers, Kwality Group, and more) or by research projects (Phoenix Mecano) all throughout the 3 years time. It also offers good placement reports for each course.
Symbiosis, in terms of extra-curricular activities, is always ahead of many other institutes, providing an opportunity to learn beyond books.
NMIMS, as my friend suggests, has a good academic structure. However, from infrastructure to management, SCMS Pune has an upper hand.
The pedagogy followed at SCMS is efficient as you will be allotted an assignment in every subject. You have to research and present publicly before the class. It will enhance your public speaking skills.
Not long after your first year, you will need to choose if you want to either go for a general BBA with each specialization subject in hand, a single specialization, or dual specialization. You will have these choices: Environmental Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Finance, Entrepreneurship.
The major upside to studying at SCMS is its massive Global immersion Programme. Basically, that means, if you bring good scores in your academic cycle, then chances are that you will obtain an opportunity to spend a semester or two at one of the foreign partner institutions. You will either have a full-time scholarship or a partial one. It is processed from the 3rd year of your course.
The classes of SCMS are extremely interactive and have well-structured assignments. For example, the students from Marketing were asked to create a video film based on their personalized assignment.
Some of the recruiting companies at the placement drive at SCMA are KPMG, PWC, Deutsche Bank, Credit Susse, Uber, Grofers, and more.
Overall, both the institutes are good but SCMS (in various locations whatsoever) can give you an upper hand.Read more
Ques. How's the business analytics program at NMIMS Mumbai?
● Top Answer By Admin on 13 Jul 21
Ans.One of my cousins studied at NMIMS Mumbai. According to him and the reviews online, I got to know a few details. Here’s including some of them which might help you understand a bit better.
Coming with a specialization in Business Analytics, it is an Executive MBA course. Besides general business management topics, you will also be exposed to Machine Learning.
It is quite costly. The fee for the course is around 4 Lakhs. However, it is quite in the same range as other MBA courses.
The complete course duration is around 18 months and is divided into 5 terms, excluding the last term that mainly consists of a capstone project.
Every subject is duly completed in about 2 weeks, including 4 live sessions of 2.5 hours (each held on the weekends) and 20 hours of pre-recorded content.
Students from a non-technical background might face issues learning subjects like Python or advanced Machine Learning. However, support is provided for doubt clarifications.
The term-end exams are supervised by Mettl. For every backlog, you need to pay an amount of Rs. 2500 for re-examination.
Not every live session class is the best you can imagine, except only a few handfuls.
In a nutshell, it is a good course if you are both technically inclined and share an interest in general business management. You will have a clearer view of how the ML model or the algorithm works. It teaches the various aspects required for either ML or AI. Thus, choose the best.Read more
The course remains the same for all first year students ( 3 trimesters per year). This is to equip students with basic knowledge of all subjects. The students get an option to chose subjects of their choice in second year. Specialization is decided based on the maximum numbers of subject chosen from each domain. The decision to chose a subject is mostly dependent on the quality of the faculty, the feedback from the seniors and the interest of the student considering the relevance of the subject in today's world
It is mandatory for all students to undergo a one month long social internship (most of the students get their internships under an NGO chosen by the college in their hometown) - a unique thing about NMIMS
Day to day learnings in classes are driven by case based study approach. Harvard case studies are used for all subjects along with the regular text books.
There are marks for mid terms, final terms, class assignment and class participation.
Because I've always been interested in numbers and finance. Therefore this was a great course for me. The student-teacher ratio would be 1:20. The teachers are highly qualified and have practical experience in their fields. They give industry examples while teaching. Term exams take place twice every year and are held as per schedule every time. They are considered difficult as they want to make sure you have understood the concept.
The curriculum is very good and well updated and the course syllabus matches the requirement of most people's needs as majority of the BCom students here are CA aspirants. The timings are good and exposure was decent. The attendance required was high and strict but manageable. The faculty is good.
