NMIMS School of Design Review

Remarks :

The Entrance exam is NMIMS DAT-(Design Aptitude Test) Where we are given a problem statement and we have to draw the solution. Later an interview with faculty, asking the students basic information and why they chose NMIMS SOD.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This is a hybrid Design course, given a range of learning opportunities, from design to business to basic drawing to product design and Technology. There are different modules and each module has 1-2 professors. Many professors have doctorate degrees and we also have many visiting faculties with industry experience. No exam is difficult to pass, if a student does timely submissions and listens carefully to what is told in class then the student will pass with ease and no stress.

Internships Opportunities :

Good companies like Deloitte, Walmart, fractal design and many more have come to offer students the opportunity to work in their companies. Students have got 5 lakh + salaries. NGO internships are also there in the Second year, paid /unpaid.

Placement Experience :

Campus placements are done after you complete your 4th year. NGO internships are done in the second year. As of now, 100% of students have got placement in the past years. Good companies like Deloitte, Walmart, and fractal design come to offer you jobs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee is 4.5 lakhs per year as of now. I got no Scholarships. Students got good jobs in Axis Bank, Deloitte, fractal design, Walmart, free charge, and many more. Students also got 5 lakh per year for start of the job.

Campus Life :

The amenities class is perfect. We have Centralized A/Cs, sound proofed ceilings. Smart boards and projectors in each classroom. Many charging points in the room. A large physical library and also an online library.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty has improved throughout the semesters in the case of graphic design. There are professors who have worked in the field and have knowledge of the industry in their own specializations. The course is very identical to other colleges in case of the curriculum. There is sufficient teaching faculty with respect to the number of students. The faculty is accessible the majority of the time and is ready to answer any queries regarding their subject. The exams are relatively more laid back in case of marking yet it still maintains the level according to the student's skills.

Placement Experience:

We will only know about the campus placements and packages offered this year as this is the first time a batch is graduating from this campus. The average package as we've heard is 8 lakhs per annum. The Pune campus is older and it's said to have good placements as well so the same is expected here as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college has excellent faculty very friendly and cooperative and they only take students according to teacher and student ratio per teacher 2 - 3 students which is pretty good management is also pretty cooperative exams are not that hard if you have a nice portfolio and have previously prepared for design.

Placement Experience:

The placements are decent. As mentioned, they bring in corporate companies rather than design studios, so it is a given that you get a good salary. The placements department coordinates through email and you have to do tasks and interviews until finally get the job. A lot of students apply on their own too though.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had a keen interest in fashion and wanted to do something which streamlined my science background. And I found this course exciting and challenging simultaneously, which made me choose this course. As the class strength is smaller in numbers, every permanent and guest faculty knows every student and tries to help everyone with their career. Most of the faculties are post-graduates, and some have doctorate affiliations they try to teach the students practical knowledge of the industry, which they have experienced firsthand during their careers. We have one mid-term examination, an end-term examination, and a final jury. We were evaluated based on our continuous progress throughout the semester.
