A peek into DBASC, life and campus.

Remarks :

The application form will be available on the college website and also in the college office. There was a general essay with a choice of questions given to opt from, the applicant is supposed to write an essay on any topic from the topics for 500 words.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose BSc Psychology completely out of passion. The psychology department is one of the most latest ones and yet one of the most structured ones. The faculty is good with appropriate qualifications. The term exams were almost on time considering, the covid situation.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for a complete year are divided into two semesters. The fee for one semester is 16000. The college provides scholarships for students from below-average financial situations. The management sometimes even provides extensions for students with difficulty paying fees, provided it is a genuine case.

Campus Life :

There are tech fests and annual fests such as OPSTA for BSW, COMET for BCom students, SLATE for BA English, and EQUINOX for the BBA department. There are plenty of books ranging from all genres of studies related to courses offered. The tug-of-war team from Don Bosco is one of the tops at Kannur University and always comes back with a prize, the same goes for the basketball team, swimming participants, etc. There are plenty of clubs such as drama club, photography club, debate club, music club, dance club, nature club, NSS, and NCC.

Hostel Facilities :

Each room accommodates 2 students, with all basic amenities provided such as a bed, table, chairs, personal cupboards, etc. There are plenty of common washrooms. The meal quality is the highlight of the hostel because there are meetings held in the hostel by the warden and the food menu is decided in those meetings as suggested by the students themselves. The registration process is quite simple, filling out forms and paying the caution deposit and the required fees annually. The food payments are done separately as compared to the monthly expense.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Bsc Chemistry because I was interested in the subject and it has got a variety of opportunities. I think the faculty is a little bit strict but they will always be available for us no matter what the situation is. The faculty to students ratio is 1:4 approximately, which is quite a good count. Most of the faculties in the Chemistry department are PhD holders. It shows the efficiency of the faculties. Even the guest lecturers are PhD holders. The teaching method is very simple. They explain each and every line very patiently. They conduct term exams in each term, ie, every 6 months. It will be very easy to attend if we are up to date with the syllabus

Exams were held by teachers at the correct time. It repeated every semester. It was a bit difficult to pass the exam because the course is very difficult to learn. So you should be very concentrated in order to pass the exams. The teachers and staffs are very supportive of that.

The classroom is fully air conditioner based and highly cleaned environment and campus also. Our campus is also so beautiful and it is located in the coastal area. Our library is also super. Whatever books we need each and every book is available here free of cost. Every year Extracurricular activities will happen and So many fests. The faculty at the institute is quite well they all are captains who sailed for almost 15-20 years and have lots of experience in the field of shipping. Placement Experience:

Campus placement opportunities are provided from the fifth semester itself. Mani famous companies like Flipkart and banking institutions like federal bank visited and provided openings to more than 100. The opening salary provided by most of them was 30000. Even though the number of students got selected were very few compared to the number of openings. My plans after my degree were to pursue a diploma in poultry production and after completing the diploma I am planning to migrate to some foreign countries like Canada or Australia.

Psychology is the study of the human mind and cognition. It's a scientific field and very interesting so our bachelors in. Generally, boys are very few who opt for psychology for their bachelor's. Our faculty members are talented youngsters but they lack experience in teaching.
