Remarks :
I scored good marks in AKTU Entrance Exam so got admission via AKTU Counselling. The admission process went smoothly and because I had cracked their entrance exam, I got admitted without facing any issues. But, I got to know about one of the issues that arose with the other students (direct admissions). The administration was not giving admissions in Computer Science to direct admissions despite seat availability. Don't know what the reason was. So, the improvement I would like to see in the admission process is that the administration should provide the chance to students to go for the course in which they (students) are comfortable and not which the administration wants them to choose.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Mechanical Engineering because of my interest in automation and machines since childhood. There are about 8-10 Professors with assisting staff of about 5-6 per department. I am impressed with the student and faculty relations in this college. Professors were always ready to share knowledge going out of the box for students. Most of the professors were Ph.D. holders with unique teaching methods that suits the students. Semester exams were conducted every 6 months with 3 sessional exams in between each semester. Exams were easy for the ones who were focused on their studies and difficult for the ones not prepared.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees per year were around 1 lakh out of which 60,000 was tuition fees. Since the college is affiliated with UP Government University AKTU, the scholarship was also provided by UP Government, but only received 56000 twice in 4 years. College assisted in marketing roles to engineering students that didn't make any sense so I didn't apply for one.
Campus Life :
The annual fest is organized every year with great pomp and show in September/October on college grounds. Books are provided to every student from the library, refundable fees of which are taken along with the annual fees of the first year. The fees are not refunded to students after 1.5 years of course completion. Classrooms have 4-6 fans, seats for students with podiums, and whiteboards for teachers. No group/website was run by students to my knowledge.
