A review of VC Puttur

Remarks :

The eligibility for the BSC course the student must pass the two-year pre-university in Science stream conducted by Karnataka PU board or any other Board which is considered equivalent by Mangalore University with a minimum of 60%. The application forms can be found in the College office or you can fill google form available on the college website(www.vcputtur.ac.in) and further go to the college for the admission process after you get a call. It is a nice admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose BSC Chemistry because I want further my career in the Chemical field. About the college, this is the best college in Puttur. faculty ratio is 1:20. All the faculties have completed MSC in chemistry. and some of them have Phd also. The college conducts internal examinations two times a semester. The question paper is moderate.

Placement Experience :

From the 5th Semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Infosys Wipro TCS visited the college and has made 5-10 offers. BSc is not a professional course therefore the placement is low The highest package is 6LPA and the average is 4LPA About 20 students got placement last year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college did not increase fees for two years to help the students from the villages and to help their financial condition. There are several govt. scholarships and also endowment prizes are there for talented students. I got an MHRD scholarship.

Campus Life :

The College conduct several departmental fests, Association fest yearly. Nature club conduct a fest in the name of SAMSARGA-LIVING WITH NATURE and the Science association conduct a fest in the name of VIBGYOR. Vivekananda college is one of the famous libraries at Mangalore University itself. It has several rare books. Internet facility available in the library also student book bank policy is there. Classrooms have good bench desks, fans, and boards. The college conduct sports meet every year also Physical education department support every talent in the college. The college team won the Kabbadi competition at the university level. The college has 20 associations like NSS, NCC, REDCROSS, ROVER-RANGERS, Science Association, Commerce association and etc. GDSC is a group run by students

Course Curriculum Overview:

Forensic science is great to be in Jain with highly equipped labs and most experienced faculty members. All faculties are PhD holders and teaching was mostly interactive and more practical-oriented. Exams are done by the university itself and some papers are a little tough to get cleared but we had a great passing out percentage too and provided all exams were conducted on time and results were announced on time even at lockdown times.
