An wholesome experience

Remarks :

I have given the CAT 2021 exam, and the application was available on the college website, with the fees (Rs 1500) and dates clearly. I was shortlisted for WAT and PI later. I received an email and link to join the session. There was a presentation round in which they explained college life and experience. I then had to complete my WAT and submit it. The PGP chair actually conducted my PI, and I got to know who he is after I arrived on campus.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose this course because it was a dual degree of an MBA from Amrita and an MS in business analytics from SUNY Buffalo. There is a total strength of 64. The faculty here are very good. Many of them graduated from reputed universities and have experience in good institutes. The teaching method is nice and they make sure everyone is on board with them in case you need any clarification they provide it. We had mid-term and end-term almost once every month. If the basics concepts are thoroughly covered the exams will be fine.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible for campus placements in the fourth trimester, many companies visit the campus for placements. This operation is undertaken by the CIR (corporate and industry relations) department of the college. Marketing generally gets the highest no. of companies and this time 16LPA was the highest offered till now. Nearly 95% of students get placed every year. My plan after getting a degree is to work in a start up. where I can assume many roles and gain experience.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees are less compared to what other institutes charge and the top 3 students who scored high percentile in CAT will get a scholarship of 70%, which is really helpful. The next 6-9 people will get scholarships of around 50%.

Campus Life :

Life on campus academically is very good, but socially not so. Amenities in classrooms and libraries are very good. Students get access to many online journals and research papers like SCOPUS. There are many sports and extracurriculars too. There are MBA-only fests and fests where all students conduct the overall Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham celebration. There is the Raga club. for students who like music, they have a music room where they can practice music.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel for PG students provided by the college is a two-person sharing room with two beds, two wardrobes, two tables, and two chairs. The rooms are spacious and neat. The cleaning of the room is entirely dependent on the student as cleaning facilities are not provided by the college. Same way in the mess one is supposed to wash their own plate and whatever they use while eating. The hostel also provides laundry service with an external laundry service agency. The meals are of good quality, but they might be boring.

Interview Experience :

There was WAT (Written ability test) and PI (personal interview ) held. Some of the WAT topics were 'Can India move towards a cashless economy?','how do the amended farm laws affect the future of the economy'. In the PI I was asked about my undergraduate and the topics I have studied and since I'm from an engineering background why would I like to join an MBA, and few basics like what do you know about marketing.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college are pretty decent and they are improving year after year. The placements are handled by the placement team and they make sure that the placements process goes on smoothly. More than 120 companies visit the campus for placements and the roles offered are very diverse. The name of the companies and the no of offers they made cannot be disclosed due to the policies of the placement team. The average package was around 17 lakhs CTC, but this year it has increased to around 19 lakhs ctc. For the summer placements, the students become eligible from term 1 itself and for the final placement students are eligible from term 4. 100% of the batch gets placed during the placement process.
