Great College for academics as well as Extra curricular activities And lots of fun

Remarks :

I had to attend CMAT and MAT exams. Now you need to attend only CMAT. If you have a decent score on CMAT you are eligible to apply for an MBA course. You will get an invitation for GD/PI. Now, this is important as the selected professors from the college are conducting the same. GD session is followed by a Person Interview session. This session is more interactive. If you are selected we will receive a call and mail from the admissions office. At the time of admission after getting selected you need to pay a token amount which will be above Rs.90000 to secure your seats the rest of your fees for the year can be settled once and when the classes start. The next year's fees should be paid only in the second year. There is no reservation system. This is completely based on your merit.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose MBA because I was passionate about it and it suits me the best. I majored in finance and marketing which had an ample scope. The faculties are experienced professionals and most of them were Ph.D. holders. The class was lively with case presentations but it depends on the attitude of the students .ours was a residential college and we followed a Gurukul system so the faculties were also available 24/7. We had a huge library with so much of learning materials. The college promoted management fests, Internships, Industrial visits, Fine dining, Interview, grooming sessions, and a lot more. Models exams and class tests were conducted before the semester exams, and timely submissions of assignments and presentations were mandatory

Internships Opportunities :

I graduated in 2013 and at that time we never got internship opportunities with our college rather we had to do it on our own as a part of our curriculum and that was without a stipend. I am not sure about the present-day scenario.

Placement Experience :

In the year In which I completed the course, we had a record number of placements. The ingot was placed in the axis bank as assistant manager in operation. The employers were Excel dynamics, KPMG, EY, Axis bank, Federal bank, Berger paints, some pharmaceutical companies, etc. That almost 92% of the students got placed.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total fees including the hostel fees mess fee etc. were 4 lakhs. There was no fee assistance provided. No scholarships too. I had availed of an education loan from the state bank of India. The fee payment is divided. Once to get selected an advance should be made after that the fees for the first year should be paid on the joining day. The second-year fee can be paid in that respective year. The university examination fee for each semester is paid during examination time which is near to Rs. 1000 which may vary.

Campus Life :

The college is well established residential college. It's located in a hill station vagomon. The environment there is serene. We have another campus located in the capital city of Kerala Trivandrum. But the Vagamon campus is extravagant. You can search the DCSMAT VAGAMON Campus on YouTube. We have 8 clubs. All students organized one with one of the professors as the mentor for each. We need to organize club activities. The students organize a very big management test Luminance each year. We have a gym for the students. Different classrooms and presentation rooms. In the first year, we are required to conduct evening presentations through the weekdays.

Hostel Facilities :

The girls and boys have separate hostels inside the campus. Faculties have apartments. The canteen or mess facility is also inside the campus. We have an extra cafeteria which is run privately by a third party and there the payment is not included in the total fee. The food menu has both veg and nonveg included. As far as I know For North Indians have a different food menu if they choose that. The hostel fees and mess fees are included in the total fee that we pay. The accommodation is like 3 people in a room. The older hostels had congested rooms but now the new hostels are good as far as I know. In certain months like March, there is a chance for low water supply in bathrooms. But now I think they have rectified that issue.

Interview Experience :

I had to write CMAT and MAT. Now it's CMAT Which is compulsory. I had to attend GD followed by PI for the selection procedure. The topics were economics, current affairs, business-related affairs, etc..
