Remarks :

I am currently an Engineering Student at Government Engineering college Jagdalpur. I get into this college after Clearing an Entrance exam which is Known as Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test (CGPET). CGPET or JEE Mains is compulsory to get admission to this college. After giving the Entrance exam there are severally 5 rounds of counseling held by CGDTE. In which 3 rounds of main counseling rounds, and the other 2's spot round. GEC Jagdalpur is 5 km away from Jagdalpur. it is present in Dharampura-3. There are 6 branches in these colleges Civil, Mechanical, Mining, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication, and Information technology. Gec Jagdalpur is known for its civil engineering branch because There are very experienced faculties in the Civil Engineering branch and have a great alumni record. Cutoffs are very low for this college. and there are no on-campus placements. The placement Percentage is nearly zero. Infrastructure is good but not sufficient

Course Curriculum Overview :

There are mainly 6 courses and have separate HOD for each Department Professors are well qualified. But they don't teach 1-2nd year students they hire assistant professors for that. This college is affiliated with CSVTU so exams are conducted by CSVTU.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is very low compared to private colleges it's just 21650 rs /- per year for General, And 3650 for reserved categories, and the rest 18000 are paid from Scholarships. There are Some private and govt. scholarship programs in these colleges like Post-Matric Scholarship, National Scholarship Portal, Foundation for Excellence (fee), Amazon Future Engineer Program, etc. Only one Govt Scholarship can be selected and the other Private can be selected it has no issues.

Campus Life :

The campus is very beautiful, there are separate buildings for each specific branch and there have main Buildings also. There is a cultural club in this college. And there is a library in this college. There are sports curriculum activities held.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facility is good enough there are four hostels .in which two hostels are reserved for girls and the other two reserved for boys. Boys hostels are named as Moksha undam Visvesvaraya boys hostel (Senior Hostel), and Meghnad Shah hostel ( for 1st-year Students).

In our college from 7 sem students are eligible for campus placement. Many companies are visiting this college like TCS. WIPRO, INFOSYS, COGNIZANT, LNT, PANASONIC, TECH MAHINDRA, BYSUS, IDBI, and many companies visit here. This year campus placement is quite good highest package was 10 lacs for 10 students and the average package was 4 lacs and the minimum package was 2.5 lacs. Around 70 percent of students got placed in any company. One student cracks Google off-campus. My plans after BTech go for higher studies.

THE ACTUAL TRUTH IN NITS

Placement Experience:

As Placement are good in nits so even in Raipur it is good then most of the nits average pakage is around 10 lpa including all branches and for CSE it is 15lpa and for it it is around 17lpa and for civil it is 9 lpa as you know in civil placement is very less so as I chosed this course for govt job and most of the people get placement in this about 70-75% people get placed. There are so many companies visiting nit rr like Adani, Wipro, Google, Microsoft, etc around every student gets about 700-800 offers by the company.
