SRM: A college of failed expectations

Remarks :

Students are needed to appear for srm jee if their marks of 10th and 12th are lower than the given criteria. I did not have to give any tests because I had decent marks in 10th and 12th. Application forms are available on the srm official site.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This course was in collaboration with TCS and would help me in my career goals. The student ratio is average in the class. The faculties of my course are good and deserve appreciation for the hard work they do.

Internships Opportunities :

There are lots of companies that offer internship roles in the college. A superset is a portal that is used by our college to invite companies to recruit students for internship purposes. Resumes of the students are sent through superset only.

Placement Experience :

Placements of the college are good as most of the students do get placed. Many types of companies come to the college for the recruitment process. This includes dream, super dream, and mass recruitment companies.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees at the college have increased in the latest batch and I don't think it's worth it because the campus is not so large and also the hostel facilities and the sports facilities are very limited. I don't know about the scholarship policy.

Campus Life :

The annual fest of the college is named rubaru and also there is a fest every 2 to 3 months. However, the sports facilities are very limited as there are no specific coaches for sports in the college. Also, there is no proper football ground and the football and cricket field have to be shared. However, there are quite a few tech and other clubs.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facility of the college is very average and irritating in my opinion. The food of the hostel is below average and unhygienic. In a cramped up room, there live 3 people who use the same washroom.

A placement year can give students inspiration for final-year projects and dissertations. It can also help develop your soft skills, such as being able to work in a team and the ability to solve complex problems, which are all valuable assets for both your academic and professional career, as Jasmine experienced.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I wanted to become a programmer and I am passionate about it. This college focuses on both curriculum and coding part also. In 1st semester itself , they have done us hacker rank at least about 25 questions. Student to faculty ratio is 20:1, but there will be no problem because you can share your problem with any mentor. The internal exams are difficult as compared to external so you will have an advantage when you will appear for external exams.

Placement Experience:

From the 6th semester, students are applicable for campus placement. All big companies like Wipro, IBM, TCS, and many such companies come to our college and they also do mass recruitment. The highest package of last year was in amazon in AWS was around 30LPA. The placement percentage of students in CSE is around 95 percent. My plan after getting the degree is to take placement from college.

Helpful faculty. Placements are fine. The highest package entitled was 44 LPA (2021-22). Plenty of activities like seminars, competitions, fests et cetera throughout the year. Ranked in the top 3 private engineering institutions (perhaps currently ranked #1 according to first-year results). Building strong alumni connect.
