Experience of an amateur

Remarks :

It has an admission exam called BITSAT. It is the Birla institute of technology and science aptitude test. It is 380 marks. Generally, you can get cs at 330. Ec at around 315. EEE at around 305. You can find the admission form on the website.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is very descriptive and crisp according to market needs. Faculty members here are very highly qualified. They all are doing Ph.D. and they have doctorate degrees. Generally faculty: the student ratio is 30:1.

Internships Opportunities :

Companies - Google, Microsoft, apple, uber, rubricks, sprinklr, amazon, deShaw, etc. These are a few companies that give a high salary. They generally give roles for SDE. We have PS-1 (it is cg based), SI(done after 3rd year in breaks), and PS-2 (done in 4th year).

Placement Experience :

Here, the college invites companies for recruiting us. All the top companies visit our college. I am not aware of the exact selectivity rate, but it is good. The highest package was offered in domestic for 90lacs by Polygon. The average package is 18-19 lacs for all departments, and 30 lacs for IT placements. My plans after getting a degree are to do a job for 2 years and then MS. Students get recruited for internship from 3rd year onwards.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Here, the fees are a little high. As of 2022, the semester per fee including all expenses is around 3 lacs. Here, students can get scholarships in 2 ways. One is called 'Merit cum need', given to those whose family income is less than 11 lac. Other is based on merit. If you are in the top 3% of all students in your batch, you can get upto 25% of the scholarship.

Campus Life :

The campus is very huge. It is based on an old architecture with whole modern facilities. One annual fest -> OASIS. One tech-fest -> APOGEE. One sports-fest --> BOSM. The library here is gigantious, Classrooms are good enough, Nothing special but all the required necessities are present. The campus has SAC(Student Activity Center), which has almost all indoor activities. GymG has a racing track, 2 badminton court, 2 tennis courts, 1 volleyball court, 2 cricket nets, and 1 football ground. MedC grounds is a cricket ground. There are many in-college apps and websites made by college students, like DVM, SU app, etc.

Interview Experience :

Mainly, the admission was based on an MCQ-based test, called BITSAT. It is based on physics, maths, and chemistry from +1 and +2, and English in general. The interview was nothing but only asking for an introduction and a few questions. For preparing for BITSAT, got through +1 and +2 thoroughly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Electrical Engineering because I have a diploma in Electrical Engineering and I want to continue in the Electrical field only. The faculty of the PCEs were not highly qualified, mostly they are B.tech holders. There was 4 batch for the Electrical section and each section have more than 60 students. They use difficult patterns for term exams, if a student scores good marks in term exams then he/she will easily clear the university final exams.
