REVIEW OF IIITKOTTAYAM

Remarks :

Admission to this college is through jee mains. The counseling process is done through JOSAA, CSAB, and DASA. Reservation is generally the same as the other central government exams. for EWS-10% ,OBC-27%,SC-15% and ST-7.5% additionally for girls and pwd students reservation is provided

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because I am interested in hacking-related subjects. Our college has a very high faculty strength compared to other colleges. All the faculty are P—HD holders from eminent universities. Exams are challenging to get good marks but we can pass easily. student-teacher ratio here is about 1:20.

Internships Opportunities :

Our seniors mainly get internships from internship drives from college and by winning national-level hackathons. Some of our seniors got internships from amazon with a stipend of 110k per month .some of our seniors got a DAAD scholarship for DRDO.

Placement Experience :

Our college students have very good placements, with the highest package of 58.93LPA and an average package of 13.90LPA. For a newly established college, it is a good figure. Our college students have internship drives at the start of the third year and placement drives at the end of the third year and throughout the fourth year.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee here is somewhat high like all other IIITs. Because these are not fully government funded. We have to pay a fee on the start day of the semester. We are not provided with any kind of fee waivers or scholarships. But information is given about government-related scholarship schemes.

Campus Life :

We have 3-4 fests organized every year. Although our library is small, we are provided with virtual libraries. Sports facilities in our college are limited as our college is newly established. we have several technical and cultural clubs.

Hostel Facilities :

Our college has four boys hostels and 2 girls hostels inside the campus and 2 boys hostels in a nearby town. In our college, we have three shared rooms. Each student gets a table, chair, and bed inside the room. Our college has a student-driven mess.

Placement Experience:

The placements at my college are very good, with more than 500 placements achieved last year. The main companies visiting for recruitment are TCS and Infosys, and there are reportedly many other companies as well. This is a positive sign, as it indicates that there are ample job opportunities available for graduates of my college. If a college does not offer campus placements, students may still be able to find employment after completing their studies through other means, such as networking, job searching on their own, or completing internships or other experiential learning opportunities. Some students may also choose to continue their education by pursuing advanced degrees. It is important for students to consider their long-term goals and plan accordingly in order to increase their employability after completing their studies

Placement Experience:

Final-year students are eligible for placement. Placement training will be provided by the college itself. Most of the companies visiting our IT such as Infosys, TCS etc and they offer a good package also. Companies conduct a written test initially. After that, they will go for an interview. All the final year students can apply for placement. But some of the companies prefer the students without backlog. In mechanical, civil, and food technology core company visiting is less. But the faculties will help the students to acquire jobs with their connections.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I felt it is more apt for me. The course curriculum is already set by the KTU for the courses provided by it. Our faculty are well trained and highly qualified. Exams are conducted and scheduled as instructed by the KTU. The difficulty of the exam is mainly based on the subject. Our faculty help us tackle them easily. They help weak academic students and uplift them along with others.
