Remarks :
The admission process was smooth and easy. All details about the application form, fees and dates were available on their official website. I did not avail of any reservation benefits as I did not qualify for them. Everything about the admission went fine; just that we need a little persistence from our side if we are really interested to join this college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I opted for a bachelor's in Electronics and Computer Engineering. I went for that branch of engineering because I had the leverage to select a career path in either electronics or computers, something which our college provides really well. The faculty: student ratio is not always the same, because it depends on the courses the student chooses. Until the 4th semester, the faculty: student ratio is roughly 1:120. Later, it depends on the courses the student selects. Most (99%) of the teaching faculty are PhD holders. Exams are held roughly every 3-4 weeks. There will be 2 midterm exams followed by one end-semester exam. If you sincerely attend all classes and study well, you can easily pass all the exams.
Internships Opportunities :
TCS, Oracle. Dell, Capgemini, and Silicon Labs (ECE) were a few companies that offered internships to only CSE and AI students. No internships were offered to EEE, Civil or Mechanical students. Companies offered stipends ranging from 35k to 50k INR.
Placement Experience :
The campus placements from our college are just fine. The average package is around 7.5-8L for the CSE and AI students. Campus placements are held at the end of the seventh semester. Voltas, Saint Gobain, Byju's. Capgemini, Cyient, Cognizant, Cisco, etc. The highest package offered so far was INR 45LPA. About 80-90% of the students were placed in each batch until now. My plans are to work for a couple of years after I graduate.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
When I joined the institution, the fee was Rs 6L per annum. 3L for each semester where 2L was for academics and 1L was for hostel fees. Now it's around 6.5L per annum and is expected to reach 7L in the next 2-3 years. This scheme is for local students (non-NRI). For the NRI quota, the fee is 7.5L per annum, and the split between the hostel and the academic fees is roughly the same. As for scholarships, if you stand in the top 10 rankers in each semester for that year, you get a scholarship of Rs. 1L. I am not aware much about campus jobs, but the campus placements are just good.
Campus Life :
Life at the campus is really good. You will have lots of freedom to roam around; it's a very big campus. There are 2 gyms with good equipment and all kinds of sports grounds like badminton, football, basketball, volleyball, throwball and tennis, except cricket (only nets). Each sport has a coaching facility at a specific time. Coming to the part of the fest, our college has 1 annual tech fest, Aether and one sports fest, Airo, usually held in about 1 week around March-April every year. It's a really fun event where many colleges around the state take part. The classrooms are quite big, having capacities as small as 30 to as large as 240. All classrooms have a projector and screen as well as a chalkboard. AC is always switched on in all classes. There are also multiple clubs that are quite active in our college; a few eg. computer science, programming, math, literary, newspaper, movie, photography & media clubs, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
College hostel facilities as of now are decent. Each room has 2 occupants. All rooms are well equipped with enough cupboards and an AC that shall be turned on during summer. The fee for the hostel and meals is Rs. 1,00,000 per semester. The food quality is very good. Delicious and high-quality food all the time ranging from north to south Indian food with special dishes every now and then. 3-4 times a week, non-veg food will be available. The only problem is the water quality, which shall be problematic as it is hard water everywhere.
